  1. Playing some great stuff vs Italy, we should be a goal up. Wes is playing well again as is Pilkington.
  2. Playing great for Ireland so far, I'd be more than happy if Villa sign him. He is pure class and is always looking for the obscure pass that opens teams up. He also takes free kicks and wins plenty of free kicks himself.
  3. Playing for Ireland atm, has had a few nice moments so far. Can see us trying to sign him for peanuts this Summer.
  4. Guzan Hutton--Vlaar--Okore--Clark Westwood--Delph N'zogbia Weimann-----------Agbonlahor Kozak Subs: Given,Baker,Lowton,Bacuna,El Ahmadi,Bowery,Bent. This could be our starting team selection next season if nothing changes. I'd say we will be in the market for Hoolahan again and players similar to him, cheap and experienced. Thats not the worst squad to be starting the league with and will be made even stronger by Benteke returning before xmas but hopefully the takeover happens soon and we have a good opportunity to splash the cash before the window closes.
  5. God knows, as BJ10 said in the other thread, maybe Lambert isn't completely in charge of things right now.. Then who is? I'd say that this quote from the Express is fairly spot in regards to whats being going on. 'Darren Bent and Shay Given have not been regulars for nearly two years and Alan Hutton has never played under Lambert. But in a meeting with owner Randy Lerner last weekend, he asked for these players to be re-introduced back into the first-team squad. It is a change of heart by Lerner, who wanted all three out of the club due to their high wages.'
  6. Ding ding ding we have a winner, post of the thread so far!
  7. We won't be changing colours, infact RedBull are gonna change their brand colours to claret and blue.
  8. He says a lot of things. Agreed. Do yo think Lambert will be here next saeson?
  9. Thanks Pal, I look forward to the day when you can prove all the neigh sayers wrong. #TeamMendi
  10. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7117764/joshua-harris-david-blitzer-jason-levien-smith-part-new-philadelphia-76ers-ownership-group Interesting article. Will Smith is part of the Joshua Harris consortium that bought the Philadelphia 76ers. Would be strange having him as part owner. Was more hoping for an Arab prince and not a fresh one.
  11. The club are using Mendi as cover for the Indian donut shop guys deal. I beleive Mendi is posting the truth as far as he knows but the club are using him as a fall guy and it will be Mendi who will take all the fans heat allowing Lerner an easier escape from his restaurant. Be careful Mendi. #PrayForMendi
  12. Could be a stalking horse scenario to force someone's hand? Mendi says that Ellison is trying to drive the price down, perhaps this is Lerner's way of getting him to pay full whack? Ha we are being spoiled tonight, Mendi getting us the inside scoop on things stateside and then the Indian donut shop owners come in and shake it all up. This thread is becoming epic.
  13. Hopefully it's the club circulating this rumour as cover for the real deal.
  14. Us as fans never really had a chance to enjoy much of that season. We never put a really good run together and everytime we looked like we were on the up we would go backwards and struggle. The only positive I'm taking from that season is that it's over and hopefully things are gonna improve from here on with investment from somewhere.
  15. Shocking performance so far, get the 2 young lads on at least they will put in 100% effort.
  16. Class player and is getting better all the time, it's clear to see that he would flourish with better players around him and more options to pass to. He sets up so much of our good play and is direct and accurate with his passing. I hope he is with us for a long time to come.
  17. Massive respect for Lambert personally, this club has been ruined by the people above the manager and it aint gonna be fixed in 2 years by some miracle worker working under seriously bad constraints. It's been ugly this season but at the end of the day we are safe and still in a good position to push on next year whatever happens. Put 3 or 4 quality players into that team and the difference would be night and day. I want Lambert to stay and have the chance to give it a proper go here. Then I'm sure we'll see some great attacking football like Lambert played at Norwich when he was backed and had a proper squad to work with. He has been restricted here and has suffered for it but I'm sure he has learned a lot and he will be a better manager for it, I just hope he is with us next season!
  18. I've seen this a lot on here and I'm not sure I totally agree. Let's say Lambert get's 3 £7m players in the summer, let's say a LB and two central midfielders, one more defensive and one more a trequartista. Add to that Benteke, Okore, Kozak, Carruthers, Gardner, Zog and Gabby back to fitness. Plus Grealish, Robinson and maybe DJ and one or two more pushing through from the academy and the current crop being a year older and wiser. I'd say we'd be mid-table barring another Culverhouse/Karsa mental happening and a crazy injury crisis or two. Hmmm- has any of our kids bar Gabby been good enough to play for any other side in the prem in the last 10 years? I don't think hoping the kids will be alright is a good tactic any more. I won't get fooled again on that one. Gardener (Blunderland), Cahill (Chelsea), Bannan (Palace). Davies(Southampton), Ridgewell(West Brazil). Gareth Barry (Everton). Peter Wittingham (Cardiff). Daniel Sturridge
  19. Am surprised Vlaar is getting so much stick on here today, Imo if you guys wanna have a go at a player then it should be Delph as he has been cack this last month and offered feck all protection to Bertrand last night while playing some terrible passes and hitting some crap shots at goal, one of which lead to a City goal. Also watch him for the third goal last night, shocking. Vlaar is a class defender in a below standard team so he is gonna be made to look bad some times. The guy has saved us with his performances many times this season!
  20. Our front line was missing Benteke, Kozak, Gabby and Albrighton! I don't see what other option the manager had than to try and keep it tight and hopefully sneak a goal. It's unbelievable the tripe that people come out with on here to try and justify their opinion!
  21. He has been like that for the past month, watch him for the third goal tonight.
  22. Yeah it was a monumental task tonight when you consider our attacking options going into the game.
  23. We did well for an hour and then once Citeh scored it was gonna be tough but I'm glad Lambert made attacking subs and at least had a go. If that header went in we would of had them shaking. Good to see the young lads get a run especially Grealish. My motm is Robinson as he showed some good skills and effort when he came on, Grealish wasn't on long enough to show much but hopefully he might get another run on Sunday. Delph has been looking terrible this last Month imo, he looks like he was on his holidays after the Chelsea game.
