The worry for me about playing Fulham is that they have an experienced midfield and they could well do what Stoke did to us. We really need to come out of the blocks firing on all cylinders and keep it up for the 90 minutes. We started great in our last 2 games then got the early goal and sat off the opposition and got stuffed 4-1, surely these kids will know what to do this time around if we find ourselves in a similar situation.

It wasn't Clark. He was covering Mata. The defenders next to him moved too far to the right, leaving the penalty area exposed, and Rooney totally free as he came from deep. He should have had a midfielder on him, or a defense that would stand tighter inside the penalty area. If anything this was the second bad game in a row by Vlaar. Poor Clark trying to cover up his mistakes and then gets the blame anyway. Maybe it is a management issue, maybe it is experience, maybe it is a discipline issue where the players can't follow instructions . Either way, it will get better. I think this team has a lot of talent, and this second season syndrome and new to this league syndrome will eventually go next season and we will see the real Villa challenging for top 6. Clark never should of left Rooney like that. Mata was in between Westwood and Delph when the ball came in. It was terrible defending from Clark.

Another crap performance and gave the ball away for United's first and second goal. Liverpool was the last game where I can remember him doing what he is paid so well to do and that was 10 games ago. To many shit performances and doesn't look bothered most of the time.

There's no plan for growth at this club, it's pretty depressing, our ultimate goal is survival on a shoe string budget, it makes for an exciting future doesn't it? Our brilliant owner has settled on making us a small time club, on a par with the West Ham's of this world, that won't change until he has gone. His role next season should be impact sub and he can then prove wether or not he has what it takes to make it with us as currently he is nowhere good enough. Pretty good at falling over and that's about it in most games, no composure!

They took their chances we didn't. Gabby has been a liability this last 5 or 6 games, woeful again today and he is one of the players that we need playing well for us to play well in attack. Ref was a pleb. Westwood MOTM

What do you mean? The usual knee-jerk reactions to a bad performance/result. Don't get me wrong, I thought we were **** awful and there are lots of things Lambert needs to improve on, I just don't see why he should be sacked. At the end of the day it's just one defeat and nobody was saying he should be sacked this time last week. It just seems as if there's no middle ground. i was still hoping he would be sacked. Your desire to defend the man clouds your thinking in my opinion. Its not about single matches its about the season as a whole and todays performance (if you can call it that) was a perfect reflection of the shite football that lambert has typically inflicted on us. What are you on about? We tried all game to pass the ball on the ground and make something happen but our young inexperienced team got schooled by a more experienced Stoke team. Too many of our players lost there way today. That's what happens when you run a Premiership team on a Championship budget. You end up with a shit squad and an inconsistent first team. I find it hard to blame the manager when you consider the constraints under which he is working.

Crouch basically schooled him, hopefully Baker learned from that mauling he got today as that is the only positive that he will be able to take form it.

Totally out of his depth, I struggle to understand exactly what type of player he is. He can't pass, can't tackle and his touch is woeful. Bring on the summer when we can replace the likes of Sylla.

Let down by the players today. Too many of them didn't put in a shift and Baker and Bacuna basically got raped. Bad day at the office and our worst game of the season by a long way. Be interesting to see how we respond against Man Utd.

Sylla is playing the same position as El Ahmadi, on the right side of a midfield 3.

We have been let down by individuals, nothing to do with tactics. It's not like Stoke have been all over us and warrant a 3-1 lead. We basically gave them 2 goals with shit defending. We have had to make 2 changes and unsurprisingly it has affected us.

Was too easy in the first 15 minutes and we got way too comfortable and sat off them and let them into the game. Need to up our energy levels and hope that Gabby remembers how to play football as he has been crap once again. Hopefully Sylla can up his game but he look so out of his depth.
