Well, not that different (lately), they both play attacking midfield or midfield left / centre... sort of. The hate is completely childish and irrational. I hate his duck face, his shit chav hair and the fact he always scores against us.

Ramsey is a better player than Barnes though, isn't he? He's also one of our own and already at the club... and 3 years younger.

I hate Barnes, the word removed. There are better players for us. If we sign him I'll have to go for a long walk and then come back fully onboard. The walk will take in most of Asia however.

I wouldn't look at it like that. If we want to be competitive in all cups (and now potentially with another full set of European fixtures) we need a bigger squad. We flogged the same 14 players to bits last season. We strength AND Quality in depth. Torres, Mings, Carlos, Konza. Two will play depending on form and fitness, which will will vary across the season. Everybody needs to earn their place and stay healthy, and then there's the need for tactical flexibility too.

I'm not so set on who should be a starter now. I'm of the opinion you get 2 or 3 players for each position and let them earn it. Maybe Torres and Mings are the ones who earn it for a while, maybe Konsa and Carlos take it from them. But we need the competition and depth. Mings and Konsa have definitely played well enough to be 2 of the 4 / 5. We don't don't know how Carlos is fitness wise yet and there's another spot for a top CB, with one of the better kids (maybe Feeney) as the cover. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if we get 8 in with almost as many leaving. GK, RB, CB, LB (if Digne leaves), CM, CAM, FW, ST.

NSWE are worth around 12 - 13 billion dollars between them currently, for what its worth. This is likely underplaying it somewhat too.

Improves the squad but not the starting XI. That said, we do need to improve the squad, so there's that. If the price is right, why not.

He's been very good in the last few months. I'm not going to forget that he was poor for a couple of years prior, but he's looking the part now. Needs do it for a long period to be considered anything like a legend. He's nowhere near the level of Ian Taylor, Cowans, Barry etc. Not for me. Not yet. Emery has got some tune out of him.

Technically excellent (so not Phillips). Walker does currently walk into our team, yes. I just think we'll have a longer term, younger and more cultured solution in mind. If he comes in with another though, I'm all for it. Young is reaching the end and Cash isn't of the standard we need in my opinion.

They don't strike me as Emery type players. Walker, maybe if he's available for a decent price. Phillips? nah, I can't see it. I think we'll be shopping in South America and Spain / France in the summer.
