  1. It was intimated in the commentary that Westwood was willing to come on but the physios wouldnt let him. Duty of care and all that. I did initially think that bringing Ayew on for him was an odd sub but it kind of nearly worked out. KM saying that Gabby was only taken off because he had a knock further compounded my view that he aint much of a football manager
  2. Exactly the same happened with me. kinda annoying but if you cant beat em, join em. Now I usually play as Man City. Its actually more enjoyable. I spend too much of my time despairing of Villa players in real life - dont need to be doing it while playing computer games too
  3. well when you have the green and white army taking 20 points out of the pot it leaves less for the minnows to fight over
  4. A real marmite movie that one. I thought it was fantastic (even though some of the Dante symbolism went over my head on the first watch) yet lots of folk I know hated it.
  5. Great game for a 46 year old - (he aint the most fresh faced of characters is he..) Question is, if Adama is fit and healthy for Liverpool, who starts in that outside right/ right wing position? (dont say Gabby)
  6. its very difficult to explain to people exactly why he is so special. He isnt the fastest, doesnt use elaborate stepovers to beat a man, not does he barrel past people with pure force and strength. It is a nearly intangible quality he shows to read what the defender is planning to do and time his touch accordingly. Beautiful to watch and will probably add a longevity to his career that players relying on the more physical proponents of the game wont have
  7. hard to believe that Dwight yorke isn't a full time professional interviewer isn't it
  8. dear lord the tackle that started the whole thing was worse than the headbutt - surprised Savage ever got up from it! But the only thing that I can really criticise Dublin for is that you should never really hit women no matter what the circumstance...
  9. oddly the team looks better in that font
  10. Stand by Me, Kings of Summer and My Girl are all brill and strike me as coming of age movies but maybe I dont really understand the term.
  11. Though to be fair he always got back up again when he got knocked down
  12. Re-post alert. Absolutely no-one liked, appreciated or even acknowledged this effort at the time and I have no reason to believe this time will be any different. But just in case it achieves a "Shawshank Redemption"-esque reception on its re-release, here goes: To the tune of La Bamba. I challenge you to get it out of your head once you sing it!! Might be tricky when you are p1ssed up however "Adama dama Adama, Adama dama Adama Traore, Oh Tra-ore, oh Tra-ore, A-a-dama.....A-a-dama....A-a-dama...A-dama (repeat from top)
  13. I said this pretty after watching him in his first friendly for us. I think he could well become a quality wide player, I think his abilities going forward are superior than his defensive skills. Without having them to hand, I think his interception and tackling stats contradict this. Mind you I imagine his assists record is good too so......anyone got one of those cloning machine thingamybobs lying around
  14. the one in the park with the young lady? Yes, that's the one. Reading it made me a little bit queasy if i'm honest. Having never read the book, I was about to Google it. Then it struck me, it's probably best not to Google the word "Porno" at work. ach just flank it with words like "disgusting" and "nauseating" and im sure you'll come up trumps
  15. the one in the park with the young lady?
  16. Sound terrible to say it but I kind of get why players lose their motivation once they get a big fat long term contract. This wont reflect well on me but I know that I am an inherently lazy person. If I am to put myself into a footballers shoe, playing for a club that I have zero emotional attachment to, whose fans hold no love for me, whose cash allows me to never work again in my life, and I have no realistic international aspirations, what exactly is my motivation?
  17. Plenty of talent, chooses not to use it. Seen a few of those types over the years, probably the last of the big earners that don't contribute anything and will probably go in the next window. Given a squad number but I doubr we will see him often if at all see, everyone seems to use this argument but I genuinely don't that he has half the talent that people believe. In his entire career there have been some eye catching moments. But they are by far the exception rather than the rule. And they were eye catching, by and large, because they were selfish pieces of play - solo runs, free kicks, long range shots etc. Which is great IF you are producing them consistently - but he doesnt. By law of averages if you continually attempt this stuff some of it will come off and people will remember it but no one takes into account the "opportunity cost" of these attempts - i.e ignoring a better option in favour of running down that blind alley/ taking the long range speculative shot. It takes a special kind of arrogance (cough *french* cough) to continue attempting the difficult option with such a poor success rate. I dont hate the guy but I think his decision making and general ability are sorely lacking and entirely disproportionate to the wages he is on
  18. So first things first. How the hell do you pronounce his name? (and not the Tiago bit smartarses)
  19. Is Areola in the basque region? Have to manage him well. I heard he can be quite sensitive
  20. I always get that when I watch Yaya Toure play for City. It doesnt seem fair
  21. i'd say go for it. but beware that it is really really odd. huge cast and i went into it knowing nothing. i watched it all and i think I enjoyed it but it is just so very very odd...
  22. The boy likes a retweet too. Seems really happy to interract with the fans as well. Very likeable chap
  23. I remember another player exactly like that. I think his name was Ronaldo. Dunno where the hell he is now. Probably playing keepy up in the centre of Madrid with a beard and sunglasses. if only he'd worked harder. If only he was more humble! The Shaqiri comparisons won't end will they? All because his breasts are small and humble. unlike Luke Shaws That dude is voluptuous
