Did you already forgot Portsmouth? And seriously, going down and rebuilding the team looks by far better option than that. Just see, Leicster, Watford, Palace, Southampton, all recently promototing from Championship and looking strong. Championship gives the manager chance to rebuild the team and win the league and go to BPL with massive confidence. If we somehow stay up this year, I see nothing changing and this process repeating for next few years to come. ( not that I mean we should accept relegation by default, but spending shitton on player wages in January is the wrong solution longterm)

Relegation could be a massive blessing in disguise personally, for number of years we escape relegation by slim margin but change very little around the club, we were just one of these clubs that was always going hang at the end play shit football and stay up, not much excitement..relegation would be a massive reality check and things would needed to be done differently. If so we could win Championship and hope for a Newcastle 2010 season get over 100 points and come with massive confidence back up. I think if Garde would stay with us in Championship we wouldnt have much problems as well.

To be fair, over past few seasons I was always very confident we wouldnt relegate but this season that feeling is not there. This is possibly mostly due to the promoted teams being actually decent, Bournemouth and Watford play awesome attackive football and while Norwich is a team we should beat, the other two are our level imho.. We lack the game changer and Grealish or Adama are too young to become that instantly.

France has shitton of young and talented left backs right now.. Kurzawa, Digne, Masauku and Mendy to name few.. Amavi won't have it easy to get into French team. In the u21 he's competing directly with Mendy who is a very good left back as well.
