  1. That's surprising. I'm sure someone quoted £75k earlier in the thread, maybe it wasn't sourced.
  2. That's debatable at best. Mediocre relative to what? Whether or not Lambert knows what he's doing isn't.
  3. Nothing. Some people can't comprehend the fact Lambert is better at his job than they will ever be at anything ever.
  4. Makelele and Alonso roles you say? So we should play a midfield two of Sanchez and... presumably Westwood? No place in the middle for Delph then. If there's one thing we absolutely certainly not do it's drop Delph from the middle of the park for one of our shit striking options. We've suffered having an overrun midfield for ages and as soon as it looks like we're going to be competitive in that area you want to dismantle it in favour of playing two of Gabby, Weimann and Bent up front.
  5. Let's face it, we're probably not getting Wijnaldum. Maybe there's not a better value option than Cleverley currently available. Maybe Lambert's previous successful buys have warped our views of what good value is out there, I wouldn't have batted an eye at MON or Houllier or Eck making this signing.
  6. He's speaking at the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce event on the 17th of September.
  7. Don't you get it free yet?
  8. Without considering anything else I'd happily take Cleverley being added to the squad right now, whatever the cost. It's not my money. If the real price being £5m instead of £8m means we can afford a winger however, then I'd much prefer that. If we're not getting a winger either way then it doesn't really matter. It just seems like kind of a shame that Lambert's bought Benteke, Vlaar and Okore and his record fee is going to be Cleverley (unless it isn't, of course).
  9. If you are serious then PM me mate . At least someone is going to get value for money on this thread.
  10. I can't help but get disproportionately angry with that kind of shit.
  11. I'd **** hope not, he moved 3 years ago.
  12. Budget related issues aside, he'll improve our squad. The fact he seems to be costing so much makes me more optimistic we'll start spending these kinds of fees on players again.
  13. The song is a shocker. The video on the other hand...
  14. Hull will be tired from their European match tonight and will miss the athleticism of Chester. We should be able to win this one.
  15. And if we get one then the Cleverley signing (fee and wages notwithstanding) would seem like good business. My fear is that our limited budget hasn't got room for both and we end up with Cleverley instead of a winger. Unless of course he plays in the 3 behind the striker like he did at Wigan, but then we're hoping he shows more creative ability than he has done so far in the PL.
  16. I think Bilbao and Leverkusen both look like tougher draws than Ajax.
  17. He's only missed a run of 1/2 league games twice in two years. On top of that he's had two longer spells out. He also played 24 consecutive league games. It's not like he hasn't been able to string a run of appearances together. Lovren, Mangala, Koscielny, Dawson, Agger, Nastasic and Terry for starters.* No CB in the world's absence is as catastrophic as Vlaar's seemingly is to us so that's not a fair question. *Edit - He's missed less games injured in his time with us than these players have in the same time period.
  18. Pep will probably make him a cb as Martinez out They signed Benatia at CB. With minimal fuss. And Badstuber is finally fit too.
  19. I was expecting this: Serious answer is Cahill or Milner.
  20. With the sound on or off?

    Wolves

Miles ahead as a bigger club. Is it even debatable? Wolves averaged over 20k attendance in League One last season. Blues barely got 15k in the Championship.
  22. He's 25. Good call. I forgot about that completely. Although in his time there he played 25 games and got 2 assists.
  23. He's an attacking midfielder who's never played an attacking role in the premier league though. Plenty of players score in the lower leagues. Maybe (hopefully) you're right and his poor creative record at this level is down to him told not to go forward rather than his ability.
