  1. The controller battery life is annoying for me mostly when I'm having a long gaming/Netflix/prime session before a night shift. I've got into the habit of using the plug from my phone charger to charge the controller so I can be further away from my TV and still charge because its inevitable it will run out .
  2. Something has just twigged, when did we adopt a "new style" and when did tom fox give that interview? The timings were pretty similar if I'm not mistaken. So if the new style is something coming from the top as a way to market the club and not just Lambert's idea then if Lambert can't make it work tom fox may be forced to get someone that will. I.e. this idea that Lambert will not be sacked no matter how bad we are would be wrong.
  3. I agree, seems like exactly the kind of player the squad has been missing for the last 3 years.
  4. Lambert with his "new philosophy" has proven how much a manager can affect how a team approaches a game. Admittedly we have gone between polar opposites from our pure counterattack to possession at all costs so its more noticeable. Obviously there are other important factors, such as quality of player, form, injuries etc but I think the manager is directly responsible for picking a team and then giving that team a way to play. I don't expect us to be anything more than mediocre the way we are funded, but 12 points* from 17 games with 7 goals* along the way is not mediocre, and I put a lot of the blame for that on the way we have set up, especially on the toothless possession game recently as it does not play to our(or benteke's) strengths. Can you honestly tell me you think our squad is that poor that those stats* are what should be expected?
  5. mirror says 7.5m For 6 months of contract I think that's too good to refuse tbh.
  6. Sorry but that's absolute rubbish. Seconded. Same old lame excuses. Thirded. The most jaded argument out there. So whose going to score the **** goals then football genius? I mean obviously you know better than Lambert. Okay I'll bite. Firstly there's no need to be so agressive, we're all villa fans here. Who in the game against Burnley was outstanding. Injury prone I'll admit, but he has plenty to offer offensively if we can get him on the pitch. I'm not his biggest fan, but mostly because he clearly has ability but his decision making(which could be improved on the training ground) is frustrating. Weimann scored plenty in his first full season and looked a very promising player, he also works his socks off. Agbonlahor is our top PL goalscorer, yes he's a limited player, but he's been an ever present for us for years and years and is one of our best servants over the PL era. Neither is even close to the worst offensive PL players ever. Maybe their recent form and lack of goals or creative play has more to do with being deployed as wingers for the last 2 and a bit years when they are both strikers. And why has he been getting that service? If you want benteke to thrive you need to use his best assets which means being direct and giving it early or getting crosses in, we were direct under Lambert for the last 2 seasons so it suited him. Now we don't give him it early and we have little width which is suffocating him hence why he's not involved in the game much and getting frustrated. Yes, he's actually a winger and he goes to the byline or attacks his full back, the only player(fullbacks aside) in our squad that does this. I'm assuming you're talking about Sanchez? In which case its probably because he's playing well, and people are hoping he can drag us forwards. It may not be part of his game but in form players abilitys will always be exaggerated in the same way you have exaggerated how poor the out of form players are. Maybe, but I can't really argue that either way unless one of our players is sold. Seeing as we have at least a handful of players on loan in the championship that can't make it into the first team I'd say thats not true. Once again can't argue against you because there is no proof(even though I think you are wrong) but you can't make a (subjective)point yourself with no way of backing it up and then say how unbelievable it is that its true, its just more exaggeration. I agree, you can't expect it at all. Doesn't mean to say you should never buy from those leagues though, not all top players start playing in top footballing countries league systems. It doesn't matter where they are from or what they cost, what we need is good players. Yes we need better funding. I agree, we can not continue to be ran like this and expect to stay in the league, but it is what it is at the moment. But back to your original post which people took issue with, they did so because we can get a better manager than lambert is currently proving to be. If we actually play in a way that suits our team we will score goals instead of isolating our best player and playing our attacking players out of position. Yes we need investment but it is absolutely no excuse at the moment, the team is has been underperforming catastrophically since september, we have scored 7 goals(in the league) in 17 games since the liverpool game on 13 sep, that is more than just the players fault.
  7. Its too much all or nothing in terms of change at the moment. Either we get a new owner new manager and investment, or we have Lerner and lambert and no investment. Why does it have to be like this? Its so difficult to accept how bad we are when you know nothing is going to change in the foreseeable future.
  8. It wasn't though, there was talk of a contract extension last season, but then we went on a crap run of form. IMO the board clearly waited until a good set of results to make it official and public whilst it was agreed in the background at VP long before. Still doesn't change it being a poor decision though I agree.
  9. Agree with this, water under the bridge and all that. Short of a footballing miracle(which he hasn't hinted at being capable of), its a matter of when and not if now.
  10. Interesting stat. 100% of teams that don't score don't win. Lambert needs to understand that if we don't start scoring having a good defensive record is absolutely pointless.
  11. Or your alternater is **** Considering it worked longer after a full charge I'd bet its your alternator, unless your only doing short trips?
  12. Rear brakes have seized on cars parked on grass front wheels have dug a nice hole
  13. I was about post something similar, I got my 47" LG over a year ago now and it was only £379 then. It's been a good tv. I don't really know what makes a "top end" TV anymore though tbh. I don't think you can go far wrong with most tv's these days, I bought a cheap logik about 5 years ago when I was a student and its still going strong.
  14. Someone yesterday genuinely posted, "Day 2 of dry January, A glass of red wine would go down great about now" Fwiw they definitely aren't an alcoholic.
  15. Yep one near me is the same, also does a special for about £18 I think containing all the meats they do(chicken and lamb donner and tikka) absolutely ridiculous, especially when you consider its a shirt hole and the food from there is pretty awful.
  16. Says a lot when five minutes after coming on and giving their right back a nightmare poyet brings someone else on just to deal with him, and he just carries on where he left off. Just enjoyable to watch. Which isn't something I've associated with the villa lately.
  17. Because that's where the space was. He stopped his run, all the Sunderland defenders ran on. If Grealish played it before trying to take the defender on the outside, it would've been a chance. Instead, while this isn't a criticism of Grealish, there was about 4 Sunderland defenders where he put the ball. But as soon as grealish went towards the byline the cutback into that space wasn't on. I'm not saying that what you are saying is wrong, but it was obvious where the ball was going and someone(whether that be benteke or someone else) should be attacking the near post, and if they were there would have been a chance as well.
  18. He is the most frustrating player to watch. Cuts inside every single time, even when he has half an empty pitch in front of him and no defender near him he cuts inside into defenders. Grealish showed exactly why nzogbia shouldn't be started. Unpredictable, defender didn't know where to show him.
  19. Anyone know what time the ticket office will open and close tomorrow(today) to buy tickets on the day. Looked on the os but its a pile of pants.
  20. People playing a song because "you need to hear it" and then proceeding to sing over the top of it.
  21. I used to like the Tapatalk app but the recent update is pretty bad. From what I've seen on the Tapatalk forums the general consensus is the same, and most of the issues have been picked up on repeatedly in a feedback thread so I'd imagine it'll get another major update again soon.
  22. The alternative is Lambert doesn't pick him. At all. Every team in the pl has pace, especially out wide. If lowton can't find(or be coached) a way to deal with it then he should show his worth in another position or be shown the door. Its all good blaming the manager but if he isn't good enough we need someone that is. Well we know that Lowton only played because Hutton wasn't available, so PL has clearly seen he does need a different option to Lowton. It's not so easy to just show a player the door unless someone comes in for him, and even then he'd need replacing as we'd have too little cover for Hutton. I thought the sensible option would have been Bacuna in midfield in place of Wienmann, who could have doubled up on Young and covered Lowton's lack of pace. My comment was more aimed at the picking him against fast wingers being lambert hanging him out to dry part of the op. I wasn't trying to say we sell him immediately just that if your going to say you can't pick lowton against fast wingers then there is no point in having him at all, because every team has at least some fast wingers, so he would never get a game. I think he needs work on the training ground, and it looks like eventually we will sell because he doesn't seem to be able to improve his weaknesses, my wording hasn't come across the best though I admit. Fwiw I think there is a player there somewhere, but I don't think his best position is right back, and I don't see Lambert moving him.
