  1. Back yourself and put in a transfer request then Leon. Oh right that might cost you and your dad some cash.
  2. Sanson hasnt done a lot. I would be interested in hearing what he has done. As for whatever the latest tittle tattle from sewing circle in the dressing room is gossiping about. Who cares?
  3. It doesnt matter who is feeding Percy his rumour of "confusion", my guess is Sanson (he was gobbing off the other week after not being selected) . We have real problems at Villa and the answer is not the millionaire Morgan Sanson whining about not being picked when he has done nothing when he has been picked. If he doesnt like it then put in a transfer request. But he wont do that because it would cost him money. I am sick of his petulant behaviour (and Gerrards by the way but thats a separate issue).
  4. He is just another crap signing who cant hack it in the premier league. If Bertie who actually played well a few times and won us some games is deemed not good enough then Sanson certainly isnt. If he wants a future at Villa shut up and train hard. There will be a new manager soon enough who may take another look at him.
  5. From the club and manager talking about Europe to the reality of another relegation scrap. Given the excellent players we have its ridiculous. They are being badly setup and coached. So on topic, we should be nowhere near the relegation zone with these players but we are.
  6. Spend and use Gerrard's pulling power for (probably) his last transfer window or save the money for January so a new manager can buy his own players? Its not an easy question tbh. Personally I really like the players we have brought in under Gerrard.
  7. Its been 9 odd months. Our full backs play as wingers, our wingers play as inside forwards, our midfielders play as full backs and whoever the poor sap picked to play our "six" actually has to cover all of the midfield the entire game. How on earth are we meant to believe this will all be fixed by Wednesday? We have given him the chances and the support. Over to him to radically improve for each game he is given the privilege of managing Aston Villa. I just think its done, this is Gerrard's style of play and its been found out.
  8. Always put his body (usually his head) on the line. All the best Nathan. Bloke had the worst luck with head injuries.
  9. Leon and his dad can STFU. Not the time for their tantrums. You will have a new manager soon enough now shut up, take your money and play your best.
  10. I guess Purslow has decided to give Gerrard another game then. I am sure our crack coaching staff have a plan on how to win.
  11. Good luck Anwar. He got us here. Treated poorly imho.
  12. I am not angry at him, just not interested any more. I have heard and seen enough. He isnt going to turn into a different type of manager in the next few days. He isn't going to find his style of play in the next few days and weeks, so what's the point? Its been 9+ months, a pre season and two windows. Its done. Its just going to make everyone uncomfortable having a lame duck manager. The players and fans need a boost now and we need to be able to recruit openly to get the best candidates.
  13. "Gerrard's tactics are like an ecclesiastical delivery service lobbing crosses into a synagogue, nobody wants the crosses you are selling mate."
  14. Takes chair at the back. Raises an apologetic hand.
  15. I have been Gerrard in this whole time hoping to see some improvement. But it hasnt materialized and today underlined its not going to. I dont see any benefit to keeping him around for the next game I really don't. It seems best for everyone involved to make the change Monday. I would sooner get humped in the next two games while being able to openly recruit a manager than get humped while doing the same utterly predictable thing yet again. Enough is enough.
  16. Agree. I think he is a good CEO tbh. He may lose his job if he fails to act though. This is the time for Purslow to do his job and make the change. There is nothing to wait for imho. No improvement today after 9 months or so, two backed windows and a full pre season. As Gerrard says, no excuses. Time for Purslow to step up. An awkward conversation I am sure, but Purslow got us here, he needs to get us out. Oh and for the curious yes Purslow can be sacked. CEO's almost always get options or shares in their businesses. He would get a chance to vest/ sell them within a given time period if he can. I suspect they are underwater or not saleable anyway but it wouldnt cost us much. But I think he will act.
  17. Good hot take but he complains too much for me. Besides he hasnt worked in over 18 months, he has been busy.. being a rally driver...?? https://www.wrc.com/en/news/2021/wrc3/fafe-puts-the-frighteners-on-villas-boas/
  18. True. I just hate the way his teams play. I dont think he can get anything out of our quality players. I wouldnt enjoy Dyche ball 24/7 is all. He would do better than Gerrard results wise tho you are right.
  19. Its been a tough day mate. Thats just the grief talking.
  20. I remember this or another similar incident in Italy, didnt the owner have a full unveiling ceremony for a new manager and "surprise" it was the old one they still had on gardening leave under contract or something? Glad it worked!! But ff Purslow unveils Lambert I will riot.
  21. Agree. 10M sucks but probably the worst case scenario and a small price to pay to save our season.
  22. I found this from last year and its The Sun so obviously wrong but for the lolz here is what they said. Highest Paid Premier League Managers (according to The Sun) 1. Ralf Rangnick (Man United)– £8m 7. Marcelo Bielsa (Leeds) – £8m 8. Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea) – £7m 9. Ralph Hasenhuttl (Southampton) – £6m 10. Frank Lampard (Everton) – £5m 11. David Moyes (West Ham) – £5m 12. Steven Gerrard (Aston Villa) – £5m 13. Roy Hodgson (Watford) – £4.5m 14. Patrick Vieira (Crystal Palace) – £4m 15. Sean Dyche (Burnley) – £3.5m 16. Eddie Howe (Newcastle) – £3m 17. Bruno Lage (Wolves) – £2.5m 18. Graham Potter (Brighton) – £2m 19. Dean Smith (Norwich) – £1.5m 20. Thomas Frank (Brentford) – £1.5m
  23. A better head coach than Gerrard and I still love Deano, but not who we need right now imho. But if we called him he would be here Monday morning.
  24. Eventually, but why bother binning Cutler, Danks & McPhee now? The new manager can decide whether to bin or keep em.
