  2. Insightful post thank you. Interesting numbers, the USA federal corporate tax rate is 21%, I work for a Swedish company where the corporate tax rate is 20.6%. I wouldn't have expected Sweden to have a lower corporation rate than the USA tbh.
  3. Probably right (I am not and never will be a Tory voter) but I can see why this has a shot at reversing their fortunes, it may work and grow the economy, they were headed for a loss anyway. Also from their perspective they are giving the poison chalice of tax hikes to a future Labour government.
  4. Well we will find out how it gets implemented. I see tax cuts and borrowing. Its not how I would grow the economy either but it is one proven way of growing economies. I would have immediately conceded all points to the EU over Brexit and come home from the USA with a trade deal. Obviously I wouldn't have inflicted Brexit on UK business in the first place but we have to grow somehow. The UK's economy is in no way setup to handle a deep recession which is where we are headed.
  5. I am kinda pleased, it confirms I can tune out the world cup this year. The more it flops the more football can focus on real club football.
  6. Sadly yeah If they dont grow then its less tax revenue anyway. The UK still does not have the trade deal with the USA because of Brexit for example. We need to compete somehow. Being a low tax country that borrows more than it should is not ideal but its worked the for USA (and possibly Ireland but others may know better than me there).
  7. Southgate has succeeded in removing any interest in England anyway. I am just happy he didn't call up our players we got away without further injury.
  8. I like the Chancellors budget and I believe it will help soften the blow of Brexit to UK business and the finance sector.
  9. Still game by game for me. I hope he can get me back to in.
  10. I am pretty much getting used to it by now.
  11. Thanks for the heads up. My advice, dont feel bad about yourself. I fell for a police charity scam here in the USA years ago. It was "only" like $100 but I felt like a fool afterwards for years. Then I realized I was doubly hurting myself for feeling stupid. So I decided to forgive myself for being a good person who trusted someone for a fake good cause. It was the crooks who should feel guilty about it, not me. So dont you or your missus be too hard on yourself. You are just decent people who wanted to do the right thing. Its the crooks who should feel bad.
  12. Its worth remembering Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in 1994 in a signed agreement with Russia that Russia would respect and guarantee the security of Ukraine's sovereign territory, which included and includes Crimea and the Donbas in return tor Ukraine handing over its nuclear weapons to Russia. Thanks to Putin, nobody is ever going to trust Russia ever again.
  13. What a nutter. I imagine that will stiffen the resolve of all of the free world. He has clearly lost his mind as all dictators do. As Biden rightly said, he is a butcher and needs to go.
  14. Good point, we played very well that game and others. I think we chop and change WAY too much so we never get to build a style of play or relationships. It seems like we always change a winning team or pattern of play under Gerrard and I dont understand why.
  15. I agree. Getting pragmatic was the right move for the last game, we were desperate for a win. Most managers will get pragmatic when they need to steady the ship occasionally. I dont hold that against Gerrard in fact I approve. What is less forgivable is not having an effective normal style of play after 10 odd months and two transfer windows.
  16. Fair. I would argue Sherwood had us playing more attractive football with much worse players as well.
  17. Shame because I like Rodgers as a manager. I rewatched the game, we definitely still have coaching issues as Gerrard acknowledged (which is a good thing, at least he is not deluded). I will take the win but I still dont understand why Luis was dropped and McGinn wasnt. We still are not coaching /using Bailey correctly. He struggles to take a man on from a standing start, he is much better used at speed. Finding Ollies best position in post Grealish Villa is still a work in progress after a year. His work rate is a massive asset but there is something missing for him to be the main central striker. imho we have a very good squad but we still have not gelled post Grealish into any attractive or coherent playing style. Thats not all on Gerrard but now most of it is. I hope Gerrard/Critchley will use this break wisely.
  18. This is excellent. Glad to see the women off with such a strong win!
  19. Whether you are in or out or shake him all about, the interview is honest and worth a watch.
  20. I wouldnt worry. if Gerrard loses games like he has been this season he wont last that long. I am surprised he got this far without being sacked (which I called for), but he has and I am happy with a win. I am not convinced by him at all but I saw enough to understand why Purslow wants to try and make this work. We shall see. Gerrard is still one game at a time for me. This game he won, so he gets my support for the next game. We shall see how it goes.
  21. You didnt watch the game then. See its easy anyone can make stuff up! Try sticking to your own opinion and stop projecting on others who watched the same game but who disagree with you. You may even persuade others of your views by being respectful. Also you have "anger and hatred toward Gerrard" for winning a football match in a way you didnt like? I hope you can see thats ridiculous.
  22. Southampton beat Chelsea just 2 games ago they are not that bad surely?
  23. I disagree. Southampton deserves our respect. Just as we learnt to our cost did Bournemouth. if it was a bannaskin game then we avoided it.
