  1. That’s VT I’m afraid. If you show any sort of negativity or constructively criticise players, performances, a handful of posters will make you out to be some sort of ungrateful b****** who shouldn’t demand shiny things. In reality of course, it’s perfectly fine to offer opinions on topics whilst fully understanding how far we’ve progressed under our excellent ownership. A great example of this was when I posted about Louie Barry saying I didn’t think he was all that on the occasions I’ve watched him play and that I don’t think he’ll turn out to be as good as Kessley, Ramsey or Carney. One poster responded by asking me if I ‘take any enjoyment in watching Villa?’ It’s a nonsense really. I love NSWE, Smith and nearly everything about the last 3 years. I’m still disappointed in this transfer window and think we’ve missed a real chance to progress having sold our best player for a record fee. As a result I think we’ll struggle this season a little. You can’t say that though because Tony Xia once owned the club and I shouldn’t ever expect success again.
  2. Yeh man, love it! Just don’t think Barry is as good as some of our other youngsters is all. Speak tomorrow x
  3. I think he’ll get a run now with Konsa’s injury. Certainly a couple of games?
  4. Yep, totally fair. they all progress at different rates. Barry aside, I think the other 3 I mention will be really good players. I think Kessler will be in our first team by the time he is 20.
  5. Excellent use of obtuse. But no, I wasn’t being. Of course, this is VT, and if you don’t think absolutely all of our youngsters will be world beaters, you’re being obtuse or negative.
  6. Absolutely. He will definitely be a professional footballer and I’m sure he’ll be a millionaire doing so. I just have reservations as to whether it will be at the top level.
  7. Ha, no, I think he’ll make it, I’m just not sure he will at the top level (the PL). I could be wrong, but I’m sure our fans were raving about the youngsters that won the youth cup back in the early noughties and a lot of them went on to absolutely nothing. Im just saying I’ve never been overly impressed when watching him compared with Kessler, Carney and Ramsey.
  8. I think as you become more successful, you lose an element of atmosphere. Prices go up, tourists start coming to games and a lot of focus is placed on the corporate side of things. Not only that, you become so good that games against lower PL teams aren’t that competitive because you know you’re going to win. One of the beauties of a full VP is you never know the result. I might be wrong, but thats my theory anyway. I’ve been to both Liverpool and Arsenal relatively recently and honestly, the atmosphere is completely dead. Ultimately, one day, a full VP might be dead quiet, but that might be because we’ve become a global superpower! A good scouse friend of mine is always bemoaning the atmosphere at Anfield now. Just says it’s full of people who only go to one match a season (for the experience), buy half and half scarves and take photos of players taking corners. They bring the money in though..
  9. Ha. I should have been clearer. I’d be surprised if Barry makes it as a PL footballer based on what I’ve seen so far. I think we have better young players than him. Could be completely wrong of course and he could be the next Grealish. Certainly hope so. Just never been all that impressed with him in the games I’ve watched.
  10. Yeh, completely different. FWIW, I don’t think there is a hope we sign Jones unless we pay top money - £30m+. Even then, Liverpool probably won’t let him go.
  11. I’ve never been overly impressed with Barry tbh. From what I’ve seen, I think Kessler, A. Ramsey and Chukwuemeka are the better players and more likely to make it at the top level. Im really excited for these 3 - especially A. Ramsey. I know that goes against the grain on here but that’s just what I’ve watched and my opinion.
  12. Didn’t the vaccine cause blood clotting in the brain in some vaccinated patients?
  13. Bissouma is a cracking player in my book. His next move is to a champions league team. I think he’d do very well in most of the top 4 teams actually.
  14. It’s a new season and Chelsea are better (+ we had Grealish) plus it’s at their place. Im all for being hopeful, but I can’t see us beating Chelsea with or without Martinez.
  15. Maybe. I think Ramsey has the potential to be better than McGinn. Just how quickly he realises it I suppose.
  16. ————Watkins———— Buendia—————Bailey ——Jones—Ramsey—— —————Luiz————— Unless he was injured (I don’t think he was??), it was strange he was left out of their squad today. Maybe they need to sell to raise funds for a move for Bissouma? All me just speculating!
  17. We wouldn’t beat Chelsea even if they were back, so not the end of the world I suppose.
  18. Exactly. Shows what he thinks about Nakamba as well. He was the obvious choice in there with Luiz.
  19. Maybe, just maybe, he isn’t as good as we all thought he was..
  20. I don’t fully disagree with that decision. I don’t think Luiz is great but he’s fairly young and I guess he’ll improve. But even with Luiz at the base, I’m still surprised they haven’t brought someone in to play alongside him. I thought JWP would have been that player. I really don’t understand some of our business this summer.
