  1. I think people are more concerned that spending £40-£50m on Abraham isn’t good value for money considering it’s arguable whether he’s any better than Watkins. In fact, Watkins would be starting for United at the moment given the alternative is that donkey Weghorst. If we’re spending £50m on a forward player, it’s going to be on someone playing just behind Watkins or in a wide position. But then you knew that.
  2. Just on the Leopard point, excuse my ignorance, but what makes this tank so special? Can they not just go in with 200 of their own tanks now and it be the same outcome? Can you not bring down a Leopard tank? Probably sounds like a stupid question I know!
  3. I'd like to see him start behind Watkins.
  4. Saw a link to Pedro Goncalves on twitter. No idea who he is.
  5. Of course. We’ve always had a squad that would make it into Europe but there’s always something stopping it isn’t there. A pre season, a different manager, an injury or two. At some point, you’re going to realise we’re not very good. I think the manager knows that now, which is why you’ll see a very busy Summer. This squad isn’t top half quality, let alone European quality.
  6. RM, LM, RB, Support Striker as a minimum (4 players). If Martinez leaves, you can add a GK to that list. If we're feeling ballsy, throw in another centre mid and a central defender. Anything less than 4 new starters will probably mean another <8th place finish.
  7. Late to the party on this one, but is there any evidence of foul play here? I thought they’d searched the river already and not found her? Surely she wouldn’t take a work call and take her dog for a walk before committing suicide? Or did she fall into the river? SO MANY QUESTIONS! (Sorry)
  8. Would anybody consider Adama Traore from Wolves on a free... (Not saying I would)
  9. I find this staggering to be honest. I don’t fully understand football finances. I don’t care to understand them. But when you have players moving for £100-150m now, it’s mad to think we were interested in a player and it’s worked out cheaper to buy half the club as well as the player than it would be to get somebody of a similar profile from a rival in this division. Moving forward, we should just buy clubs to get their players. Simples, right?
  10. Don’t agree it’s the culture. It’s not the culture, it’s not the manager, it’s not the fans. It’s not the stadium. It’s not the pitch. Our players just aren’t good enough. We’ll start moving up the table when we sign better footballers. Talk of culture and the fans is just denial that the team aren’t very good because the players aren’t top half quality.
  11. Agree and disagree. Firstly, not sure I agree about the bit in bold. You could very well be right, but we as a fanbase tend to rate all of our players very highly but are left scratching our heads when we can't finish above these teams. Like, why is that? Maybe our players aren't very good. Take Douglas Luiz as an example. I don't mind Luiz, I think he's tidy enough and he's got better over the years, but how good is he really...? Is he better than Harrison Reed? I bet every single person on this forum will say 'Delphinho, you're mad', but seriously, is he? Is he better than Palhinha? Is Buendia currently better than Willian and Andreas Pereira? At some point, us as fans need to realise that we are where we are because we're a below average PL side. Until we start scouting better and finding better players from abroad on <100k a week wages, we won't improve. We're not going to go to another top half PL club and take their better players. What we need to do is replicate what we did with Kamara and go out and find players that are top half quality but playing abroad. It's not easy, for obvious reasons, but there are plenty of them and given the wages we can offer and the size of our club, we can do it.
  12. He just gets angry that I’m right all the time and he’s wrong..
  13. I have absolutely no doubt he'll leave this Summer. All signs point to it.
  14. Age doesn't concern me as much with the keeper position. Happy for the club to bring in a 30yr old keeper for however much as experience is vital in that position. If they're young, it's just a bonus I guess.
  15. In your opinion. Just as in my opinion, he does. Either way. It's cool. Love a good, healthy debate. Can't we just go back to arguing over Buendia instead...?
  16. I'll shit on who I please, thank you very much.
  17. If you sign players befitting of a mid table team, that’s where you’ll end up. Until we’re better in the transfer market, we won’t finish higher than 11th.
  18. I don’t hate him I just don’t rate him. He may be slightly better than Trezeguet and El Ghazi but that’s all it is. Too slow, too weak and often finds himself in a good position only to completely mess up the situation. He’s not good enough, hence why we replaced him in the window we signed Bailey and Buendia. At that point, it was expected he’d be on the bench because the manager and the club knew he wouldn’t take us forward. Fast forward 12 months and the club made the decision it would be better to pay his wages to play for somebody else. We can all romanticise about him coming back and suddenly being good enough to fire us into Europe but nothing will have changed. A couple of very good goals aside (El Ghazi scored better), he’s worth nowhere near what we paid for him and not of the level to help us get into the top half of this division. Probably not even good enough for a 15th/16th place side. You can disagree all you like and try to convince yourself using stats that he’s this brilliant wide player we’ve been missing but absence has just made your heart grow fonder. Emery will hardly play him and he’ll be shipped out to some no mark European team at the end of the season while we continue to pay him. He can take Buendia and Bailey with him too and finally, finally the club may actually sign a decent wide player with a bit of pace.
  19. It’s going to be great when he scores his first goal. Hopefully he does it in front of the Holte and it’s an important one.
  20. Perhaps, but that pair are still brilliant and boss most games. I don’t think Luiz is there yet. He’s not a general. Just a tidy midfield player who at the moment, is probably one of our better players
