I disagree. I think even during pre-season he looked his best at RB and was pretty underwhelming when played elsewhere. If anything I think Lowton has the better footballing ability to play further forward. Judging players during pre-season, my god. Better than writing them off pre season tho, innit?

Ok, it's a case of Libor adapting to the PL, but it's also a case of Villa adapting to him. If our sole tactic is playing hoof ball up to him, then that won't get us very far. We need to be giving him proper service from the flanks, something we don't currently do very well anyway. Stiill astounded by some people's lack of patience with the big guy.

Focus Diesel estate. 53 Plate. Bought it 5 1/2 years ago for £3500 82k FSH ex RAF car. Now done 150k, never failed an MOT. All it's had replaced so far is a clutch pedal/master cylinder (touch wood). Averages 45 mpg +. It's a tool but it owes me absolutely bugger all.

That's the time I got into NFL. Chose Redskins mainly cos I really admired Riggins and Theismann, plus their logo was easily the best one in the league (and still is, yes Obama, I'm talking to you!!). Used to buy Pony Linebacker trainers all the time too as they were so good for casual, gym and astroturf. I was a bit like Imelda Marcos as far as they were concerned!

I'd say that's about right. Looking back I'd say only Bozzy in his pomp was as good between the sticks, but his feet were on the wrong legs when it came to kicking!

Gazza was easily the best player I've seen in an England shirt. Shame about his "issues". But, does anyone really care about the national team any more? There can't be too many these days.

I think for 25 mill we should buy the sty, flatten it and build "The SHA Experience Theme Park" (sponsored by Nicolites). There would be loads of really disappointing rides, like the rollercoaster that climbs halfway up, hangs there for a while, then falls dramatically back down to the bottom again. Free e-fags for the kids too.

Forwards need balls to attack. Balls hoofed from the back usually allow defenders to attack the ball whereas a cross into the box or a corner allows the striker to get a run at the ball, hopefully at the back's expense.

Benteke for all his strengths has a habit of chesting the ball down around halfway facing the Villa end and over running it. One of these days that'll cause a problem, so mis-control isn't just unique to LK. I admit he needs to sharpen up, but I'm sure he will.

Didn't see much of the game, but from what I did see, it didn't look a classic. Still, it was just the sort of game we would/could have blown last season, so I won't complain too much. Just draw a line under it and go again move on.
