  1. I don't know what excuses can be put forward for getting so well beaten at home by League 1 strugglers. Not gutted to be out of the cup, but gutted by the way we whimpered out of it and the fact that Lambert didn't give our squad players a chance. Would rather of went out with our yoyrg team players being blooded. But no we go out with the same shite from Weimann, Westwood, Luna, Lowton, Tonev and Bacuna. Sickened that he couldn't give our own young lads a chance. They could not have done any worse. F**k you Lambert for constantly serving up such a pile of crap to our loyal fans.
  2. Its time the board seriously considered options. I like PL but that performance today is another in a long line of unacceptable home performances. It is damaging the club.
  3. Embarrassing. Any team could beat us at home these days. Please give Gardner a chance. FFS he cannot be any worse than these no hopers Embarrassing. Any team could beat us at home these days. Please give Gardner a chance. FFS he cannot be any worse than these no hopers
  4. He was strongly linked with a move back to the Belgian league at the start if the season. Is gettable and could be a great signing. Just not sure introducing a player low on confidence into our midfield will help either party.
  5. Decent journey man pro. At 31 this would be a dream move for him. I doubt he ever thought he'd play for a club as big as Villa. Lambert would only use him at home. I like the lad but am not convinced this is our best option. Kind of sad if it is.
  6. Gutted for him. Hope he makes a full recovery
  7. This thread is hilarious. Mata and Ronaldinho! Ffs try to stay on planet earth
  8. Agree fully. If you put Kagawa in our current team we still wouldn't create much. We need the players to win and retain possession first before worrying about creativity.
  9. Hopefully Ryan Gauld and John Souttar although Tony Watt would be a good buy All good prospects but in fairness we need players with experience. If we want to take a chance on an 18 year old then we should be recalling Jack Grelish.
  10. No one asked him to throw it away. He bought the club in the full knowledge he was the 'custodian' therefore looking after it for ALL of us. Secondly he knew it would cost as at the time he said if he wanted to make money he wouldn't have bought the club. As is pointed out above Everton are in a much worse position financially than we are but have a manager now who can get them playing good football. A manager who turned us down due to the owners plans. We are going nowhere at the moment - no money, no plans, no leadership and poor players with no decent tactics. - HAPPY 2014! Everton also had ten years of stability under Moyes. Martinez is reaping the benefits now I think Lerner has good intentions but has made some bad mistakes - For me the proof of the pudding will be what happens next season - I'll reserve judgement until then I pretty much agree with you. However if we don’t invest in January we could end in the Championship next year.
  11. I would not be at all surprised if we signed Ledley. He’d be within our budget. Didn’t HH say something about Lambert going to Scotland to try to sign some players? He’s a little one paced but he would be an improvement on KEA or Westwood.
  12. Desperation to gain points? Kozak was signed exactly so we could cope without Benteke. If Benteke was rushed back then that is inexcusable by Lambert really. I feel a bit bad now for laying into Benteke as I did. Its the medical staffs call. Lambert would have nothing to do with it.
  13. I would settle in my new surroundings. Villa would still be close to my heart, I would always look for their result first on the Livescore app. I enjoyed my time at Villa.
  14. He hasn’t really had a chance to show what he can do. He is still highly rated which is why he was on the bench last week even though he’s not match fit yet. Hopefully his injury nightmare is behind him and he will at the very least be able to take the chance to prove himself in the first team.
  15. Played an hour last night for the 21s. Good to see him nearing match fitness.
  16. Problem is on current form he's not worth anywhere near £30m. He's been found out big time IMO. Should have cashed in in the summer. If nothing else he should be pulling up trees for his WC place and even that doesn't seem to appear to motivate him. He will be Villa player this time next year. No doubts. That’s one way of looking at it. Another is that WE have been found out. Every team we play now sets up to deal specifically with our counter attacking approach. They sit deeper and force our front three to play in front of their defences. Their midfields are dropping back to deal with Gabby and Weimann. The long balls we were hitting on the break last year and now at best finding Bentekes head for a knock down to no one!, last year they were going in behind the oppositions back four with our front three competing for them. Benteke is an outrageously talented footballer. He will score so long as we play to his strengths. He needs to be able to exploit his pace and power. We are not doing this at the moment.
  17. So do you think it is good enough? This isn't about booing nor is it the fans fault that our defenders can't do the basics right, nor is the the fans fault that we can't take a corner properly nor muster up any type of chance at VP. On a side-note I also go to away games. I'm sure no fan, player or official is happy with our home form. Lamberts team on Saturday against the champions cost £18m to assemble With those kind of resources at our disposal it is always going to be a stuttering progression if at all With the kind of money at our disposal we've got no right to be anything other than bottom three - the fact that we are currently 11th is staggering really I'm disappointed Sikh as your previous comments have been very well considered - I don't think Lambert should be given a free ride, but from my perspective I see a guy desperately trying to push my team up the league. Thank heavens that he is willing to give it a go to be honest becuase I really don't see many out there who would take the hit to their reputations that PL has If its 'entertainment' people are looking for that is 12-18 months away (hopefully) - at the moment it is about survival and rebuilding I am posing questions, Do I want Lambert to go? No, think he is the right man to rebuild this club. However he should be questioned on numerous things, its all well and good saying look at his budget, and I respect all that. However football at VP is dross and there is no hiding from that and PL must recognise that. He made loads of statements at the beginning about vibrant football, pressing, effort, try to win games. Not seen any of that at VP this season, have you? Your right, the football has been very poor at Villa Park both in terms of style and results. Other teams have figured us out and PL has still not found a way for us to win or at least carry a threat in home games consistently. The onus is on him to change this. It’s obvious that we lack creativity when we cannot rely on counter attacking. But to be fair PL must has been trying to improve on this. He has changed the line-up and approach at home on several occasion but has yet to find a solution. It’s not like we have talented players sitting in the stands. His latest attempt is to give Albrighton a go. I’m sure Gardner will be given a chance too. Grealish has to be in his thoughts now and I’d except him to be recalled unless we have adequate money to spend in January which seem unlikely.
  18. As does your neverending whitewashing bore me. Despite Lambert claiming most of the reported fees last season were false, the accounts show this wasn't the case. So with this in mind, can you stop going on about how little he has to spend if that is at all possible? £43m in two seasons isn't to be scoffed at. In all fairness are you being serious? We are talking 16 players who arrived since PL came here. Do you really think that sort of outlay is significant?! PL has overseen a seismic transition in the direction of this club. We have gone from having one of the highest pay bills in the Premier League (higher than Spurs) to being on course to having one of the lowest at the end of the season. He has had to shed so many underperforming highly paid senior players, Bent, Given, Hutton, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Cuellar, Ireland, Makoun etc. and replaced them under the financial constraints imposed on him by the club both in terms of wages and transfer fees. He has basically had to work under similar conditions to the mangers of clubs relegated to the Championship but do so while remaining in the Premier League. The result will of course be a squad devoid of star players. We cannot attract them any longer and the best we can hope for is filling a squad with honest pro’s and youngsters who have potential. If it works we will end up back where we started. A mid table club, capable of a cup run with a few outstanding players that we eventually sell on. Except we will be in much healthier place financially. At this point PL and RL will sit down again and plot a course for the continued development of the club. If you do not agree with this approach then throw your toys out of the pram but at least recognise that these are the constraints PL is working under.
  19. Keane just had surgery, he will be injured for the loan window from the MLS.
  20. Bit of both but I think some of it could be psychological. We've been poor at home for ages. Some fantastic excuses on here this morning. Someone blamed the fans and now this morning we're crap at home because it's psychological. Maybe, just maybe, we're crap because our manager purchased poor players and doesn't have the nous to get the best out of them. Just an idea? Hold on, if you think the players he signed are poor then surely you must think he is getting the best out of these poor players. How else are we 11th?
  21. Outclassed once again. I understand the financial contrainsts PL is under but this is possibly the least talented group of players I can remember at Villa. Maybe that's an over reaction, I'll stop now and have a while to cool off.
  22. We are struggling at the my moment. We need to add some quality in January. Bit surprised the Baggies sacked Clarke
  23. We don't have any say over how long a player gets which ,given the knee jerk reactions of a lot of folks on here, is a very very good thing. Football “fans” are increasingly guilty of turning on our own players. I really think this kind of thing should be reserved for players who simply are not trying or who have insulted the club. Currently something our lads cannot be accused of. Thankfully it’s the job of the manager. So regardless of some people’s opinions Delph was given the time to improve and develop at this club. Same goes for Ramsey at Arsenal who was a target of some awful abuse last year. Lambert will decide when he thinks a player has had enough time here and that he’s not going to make it. Even then its only PLs opinion and does not mean he will not make it elsewhere. So in summary as long as a players is putting in an honest effort and has a Villa shirt on his back he should be supported by us. END OF!
