  1. He's just not good enough. I've nothing against the lad but anyone impartial watching him play now will come to the same conclusion. Far too slow and gives away too many chances. Cannot understand why he has been added to our wage bill.
  2. Cole has been crap for the last 2 years at West Ham. Given how much their fans hate Fat Sam you can be sure the lack of an outcry over his release means they agree with him on this one. He was subbed off at half time against us and they went on to win the game. He didn’t look at the races and Albrighton came on that day and looked great. I find it strange that we release Marc and sign Cole! That being said, I now fully believe Cole will do a Lazarus and awake from his slumber to be the signing of the season! C'mon the Villa
  3. Maybe we can sign Jenas too.
  4. Ha Ha! If they took it at Villa Park, he'd be carrying Gabby and Weimann at the very least.
  5. Sam Hutchinson was released by Chelsea. Saw him play a few times for the owls and looked like a decent prospect.
  6. You would honestly prefer Neil Lennon? We need someone who can mould a team to compete in a league with vastly more resources than ourselves. What would make you think he could do that? Celtic operate on a shoestring compared to us. He has managed to unearth talent from England and around Europe for less than Lambert has spent on junk. The likes of Forster, Hooper, Kayal, Wanyama, Izaguire, Commmons, Mulgrew, Ledley are far superior to some of the dross we have signed in last 2 years. He has also got the most out of some limited players and shown an ability to develop young players. He has done very well in Europe when you consider the massive difference in spending power between Celtic and their Champions League rivals. That’s why I think he could work out here. Anyway it’s just my opinion, based on my belief that we don’t have the pick of Europe!
  7. Neil Lennon would be a good shout if he hasn't already done a deal with Norwich. I just can't see him or manager with a decent reputation taking on the mess that is currently Aston Villa. Maybe Moyes is desperate enough?
  8. Awful, awful injury. Every case is different but he will need a bit of luck to return with the same pace and power. He will likely miss all of next season which is devastating for him and us. Very worrying I wish him a speedy and full recovery. Thankfully he is young and will get the best care available which maximises his chances of a full recovery.
  9. send him back and take Ashely Cole on loan next season!!!!!
  10. IMHO its too early to call time on GG. Injuries have ruined Hus chances. We should offer him another year with a large game bonus and see how it goes.
  11. Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is keen to sign Senegal striker Moussa Konate. The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Italian side Genoa from Russian club FC Krasnodar but has been scouted three times by Villa. Full story: Talksport Looked good in the Olympics but it seems he has made no impact at Club level to date.
  12. Ah f**k it are you serious? His Cruciate? Gutted for the lad. Hope he gets back to 100%. On a positive note it is not as serious an injury as it once was. With luck on his side he should be back to full fitness in 6mnths.
  13. Was chatting to a friend who was at the game. He reckons Jacks class was obvious but he didn’t have the best of games overall, Gave the ball away cheaply and was blowing with half an hour to go. Obviously they were down to 10 so that would be a factor. His decision making will improve with experience
  14. We are simply not very good at football. Our players’ ability, our tactics and our style of play are horrendous. What is the point of Villa? I no longer remember if there ever was one.
  15. Spot as usual You cannot judge Lambert & Villa in isolation. Look at the teams above & around us last season. Swansea, West Brom, West Ham, Norwich, and Fulham have all regressed. If I accept your take on our current position then you could say that us, Stoke and Sunderland are in pretty much the same shape as last year. Southampton and Newcastle (pre Cabaye sale) have improved. The first group, bar Norwich, have all sacked their managers. Sunderland, Stoke and Southampton have also changed managers since last season. Southampton are the only club who seem to have improved as a result. They are an outlier. Obviously the quality of their young players and the continued investment is reaping dividends as much as the change of manager. And after all of that they are still not a million miles away from us. Sacking Lambert would be similar to Stoke sacking Pulis……pointless.
  16. Carruthers scored for MK Dons, 1-1 at the moment
  17. He'll be lining out against the Dingels on Saturday. Wonder will there be many Villa fans in the away end?
  18. It’s a month loan, Plenty of opportunity for game time they play them playing on Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Saturday, Tuesday & Saturday in that period! Also Stephen McPhail has just left the club…….Over to you Gary!
  19. I agree tbh seems ages ago when he was mooted as the next Stevie g now he's 22 times not on his side to make a standout role going the same way all our potentials go moores, byfield etc You fellas probably said the same about Delph. I can only assume from the fact that he has been part of the first team squad, i.e. training, travelling and occasionally on the bench, that he is in Lamberts plans. This loan is a good chance for him to get some game time and hopefully come back match fit. I have no problem with Gardner, as I said its a shame - I don't think we will see him in a Villa shirt again because his contract is up in the Summer and there are clearly several players ahead of him in the pecking order. Westwood, Delph, KEA, Sylla and Bacuna are all ahead of him, if money is tight I can't see us offering Gardner a new contract that he would be happy with. There will be other clubs willing to snap him up in the Championship, probably offering better wages than we will and most definitely offering him first team football. Again, you prob would have said the same about Albrighton. Its hard to know for sure but the way in which the cluib have handled him recently would suggest a new deal is on the cards.

  21. Looked a fantastic player in the Greek League. Fulham really done well in the window. Are you at the game?
