    Only saw him playing on the champios league thus year and looked good. Point us he'd be available on loan. Couldn't be any worse than what we have. Could agree a future fee and is young.

    Not taking the piss here. But Steven Defour on loan is doable. He's available for £4.5m after falling out of favour at Porto. He's being linked with a return to Anderlect.

    @Papillon. I read your pretty long post out of courtesy. I recognise the financial commitment RL has given this club and hold him in high regard for it. But this was not his first sports team to own so I don't think the fans venting on line will hurt his feelings. The facts are we are slipping towards relegation and badly need a few players if we are to have a fighting chance of arresting our decline. If RL refuses at this point to invest again, he is negligent. To allow his club and investment sink now cannot make any sense. He needs to back his manager or sack him now and back a new one immediately. End of.

    To clarify he was on the bench today for Morocco, they drew with South Africa so did not qualify from their group at the ACON.

    Over 50% has been equity investment, the rest has been shareholder loans with interest lower than than libor. This is a huge level og GOODWILL. If he operated like other owners our debt would be a massive to commercial banks. We'd be another Leeds

    Are people seriously questioning RL's financial commitment to this club. Ffs you can rightly criticise the way the money was spent over the years but to question the level of money he has pumped into Villa since his takover is outrageous. This is something all villa fans with a modicum of intelligence should be able to agree on.

    I expect Lambert to be gone in the morning. I still think he's a decent manager but he's pretty much **** here at Villa ow. Nigel Adkins awaits. On-wards and upwards.

    This is a completely different proposition than West Brom.For a start I expect Bradford to sit deep and try and hit us on the counter. Unlike the West Brom game we will not be able to exploit the speed of our front 3 against a team who (quite rightly) park the bus. We will end up relying on creating chances in front of their back four so we will be looking at quality delivery and finishing as our main threat.Giving this I would strongly consider starting Bent and including Ireland at some stage. The last time we went at a team and won was Tranmere. This will be twice as difficult.

    THIS I'd like to add i was angry with Guzan for not holding that ball and conceding the corner.....this may be harsh though when i see the highlights i may reconsider. Holman and Bannan weakened us so much.

    These quotes are a direct response to being asked if there would be big money signings like when GH signed Bent and Makoun 2 years ago in the January window. Nothing really new in what PL said.
