  1. Yes please So you hate Randy Lerner so much you'd rather us change to playing in Red & White and become Red Bull Birmingham? No matter how badly Lerner is running this club, I'd rather have him than be turned into another Red Bull FC. If we got bought by Red Bull, it would probably be the end of my support of football, as Villa is only thing that i'm currently clinging on to. We're not going to get bought by red bull. And I wouldn't want the name or colours to change. I don't think will either. But by you saying yes please made it seem you'd rather have Red Bull come in and rebrand the club than have Lerner, which is something they will almost undoubtedly do. Id rather have Red Bull than watch another minute of this bollocks Lerner and Lambert produce on a weekly basis Sums up modern football really. You don't like Lerner and Lambert so you'd rather have the club's soul sold off just so it might change. Give me a poorly run AVFC under Lerner over whatever Red Bull would turn us into anyday.

  3. I feel a bit sorry for Bennett, he's had a pretty tough time since we signed him. Took a while to return from injury when he joined, was thrown in the deep end in a struggling side when he did get a chance, fans got on his back early and when he finally started to show some signs of progression, he gets injured again for a few months. I'm looking forward to him getting back to full fitness, I have full faith that given a bit of time and a good run in the team when he's fully fit, he could become a good player for us, maybe not the ideal top 6 player most fans want, but a good full back for a mid-table Premier League team.
  4. On something like page 214, someone posted a link to twitter claiming we had agreed a €12m deal with PSV for this Depay guy, then GENTLEMAN (I think) claimed to know something about it and was certain it would happen, and then told someone to PM him so he could tell them about it privately, then everyone began desperately trying to get the PM and now it's turned into this...
  5. Jesus Christ, Lambert, Show the players the last 6 or so pages of this thread before tonight's game, maybe seeing how desperate the fans have got to see this PM they might put in a performance so we have something else to talk about.
  6. His account has now disappeared Wonder why? Found out? The account is still their but that link is broken for some reason. Ahh yes, just changed his account name and profile picture. Probably why the links broken.

  8. Most people did, but most people also thought Fernandes and the Mittal's would try sell up as soon as they were relegated. West Ham don't have the luxury of having two of the richest people in the world owning them, just a couple of porn barons. Yep, traded him + £23m for David Luiz. Barmy.
  9. If this does happen - I'm very skeptical, I've been down this road one too many times *cough* Belhanda *cough* - it would be a huge boost for the club. Don't know much about him but he seems to have a good record at PSV and is the big money signing a lot of people on here have been crying out for (but it will probably still be criticised...).
  10. Deny it all, then have a go at the club for not completing the deal and moan about not bidding enough for and losing out on good players despite us probably never being in for the player in the first place. That's how VT usually works anyway.
  11. I think we're willing to let him go without a fee. Suggestions are that Stoke want to do this so they can then sign Guidetti on loan, which I don't think they can currently do with Ireland on loan. Providing we aren't paying Ireland his wages until the end of the year, it's a win-win situation for all involved, Villa lose Irelands £80k p/w (or whatever Stoke weren't paying) from the wage bill and Stoke sign Ireland until the end of the season as well as getting Guidetti on loan. I strongly suspect that we will still be paying some of Ireland's wages though, as I don't see why Ireland would agree to join Stoke until the end of the season on what I assume would be lower wages at least I assume Stoke can't pay players £80k p/w - when he could see out his loan deal and be paid by both us and Stoke. Then again the Telegraph story reporting this did say Stoke were "Taking Over" the contract, which might indicate that Stoke are going to pay him £80k pw.
  12. Considering the 4 we had when he joined - Warnock, Hutton, Lichaj and Stevens - good! I'd much rather have the 4 - If you include Bacuna - we currently have and Naughton over all of them.
  13. Could be gone in the next few days, Hughes wants to sign him permanently in Jan.
  14. That's their thing isn't it? They give you a year to go bonkers and see if you come back? That's the Amish, the ones who shun electricity and don't integrate much with modern society. They allow a year or two for teenagers to go off and experience the world they are essentially turning there back on. Mormons are just Christians with some fairly strong and rigid views and rules, such as Jesus lived in Utah for example, I think that's the Mormons at least, but are still a part of society and use modern inventions.
  15. I'd put it down to replacing too many first team players at once with too many wonderkids. Personally I love the strategy of selling players when they reach 27/28 and replacing with younger players as it keeps you wages down, is a great way to make money and you can often find regens that are better than you're current players. However, it's a gradual process, I tend to have roughly 3-4 teenagers around the first XI and bench at one time and bring them in when I sell the older players. A sudden influx of 8/9 players, all under the age of 21ish can be really detrimental to the team in the short term. It upsets the balance of the team. You just need to take it as a rebuilding season if you decide to do it all at once, and aim to win the league the season after or even the season after that. Obviously it is possible for you to win the league with a huge overhaul, but it is a lot harder as the team cohesion isn't there and all the players are just getting used to each other.
  16. He is a tosser for being a diver, but he has a point (not properly read the article, I assume it says Refs should make right decisions). Referees are suckered in too easily by diving, so even the most obvious dive can easily be given. Take pretty much any dive by Young, or the Fulham one at the weekend, or Ramires v WBA, the list of obvious dives which aren't penalised or rewarded goes on. Referees invite the added pressure of players diving on themselves by either not punishing them heavily enough or by falling for them. I have absolutely zero sympathy for Ref's when it comes to diving. However, I do also think a video review or challenge system wouldn't be a bad idea to implement to aid them.
  17. AM has to be my favourite album from this year, absolutely love it, it's definitely Arctic Monkeys' best album imo. Modern Vampires of the City by Vampire Weekend was also very good, didn't like it at first as it wasn't what I was expecting, but after a few listens I realised how good it was, it's lyrically brilliant. Also, a bit of an obscure one, and probably the only band I know that isn't "mainstream", Area 11 - All the Lights in the Sky, a band that style themselves as "Gaijin-Rock", a great and really catchy debut album. Random Access Memories was a real disappointment for me, I thought I was going to love it but I just couldn't listen all the way through. I might give it another try sometime, but albums don't tend to grow on me with the exception of Humbug, but I'd put that down to the fact Arctic Monkeys are my favourite band, so I've go little hope for RAM.
  18. Bacuna didn't make the contact though, that's the whole point of why it wasn't a penalty. Bacuna was running in a straight line, didn't attempt a tackle and Kackanaklic jumped in front of him. But then again you're right, Kackanaklic certainly was asking for it...
  19. Clark was very good imo, but let down by three out position partners in defence. All round pretty shite. Despite the players playing like they've never seen a football before, most of the blame has to fall at Lambert's door, got the team selection horrendously wrong. Gabby was quite good too, tbf.
  20. The players have been poor, but Lambert can't be absolved of blame, he decided to play a CB at LB, a CM at CB and another CM at RB whilst leaving a natural RB on the bench. Plus he's played Weimann out of position whilst leaving 4 more capable players on the bench. Bacuna is a CB? No, he's a midfielder, like i put... Oh woops, misread. But his best performances for us have been a RB, and he played at that position at his last club, so why would you say he is out of position? Because when he joined he stated he was a central midfielder and didn't like it when he was played out of position and as a utility player at Groningen. I could have just made that up, but I'm sure there was something about that when he joined. Having said that I would have started him at LB with Lowton at RB
