  1. Maybe shouldn't be in here as I think I have every right to be pissed off at this, but my "60Mb" broadband is currently running at 0.10Mbps, I feel like I could kill someone!!!
  2. Personally it's because I don't think he's a very good 10. Other than his kicking he doesn't seem to offer much that puts him ahead of the 10's England available. I rate players like Flood, Burns and even Twelvetrees ahead of him, plus Ford with his recent form, and just don't think he should start for England. He also seems to be a cocky arsehole who thinks he's better than everyone else (which to be fair is sometimes good in a 10), and when things don't go his way he acts like a petulant little baby. His dad being a coach has nothing to do with it, it's just a convenient point to lash out at when he's playing poorly, or should I say kicking poorly.
  3. I wonder why... (I know that you didn't mean it like that, but I love that picture.) I think England's main worry for NZ is that they will miss Baritt and Tuilagi. I like Twelvetrees, I think he's a great player and it's a shame he had to leave Tigers for first team games, but he's a 10 playing 12, I don't think he will be able to intimidate their centres or carry like we did last year. He's brilliant if you want that second kicking option and try exploit weaknesses in the back three, or if you want a more passing game and get it wide quickly. He doesn't have quite the same presence as the other two. I'm probably talking out my arse here, I just prefer to see Twelvetrees at 10 especially ahead of Farrell (god I hate him). To be fair though, I wouldn't mind seeing a Twelvetrees/Tuilagi partnership. As for Tomkins, whenever I've seen him for Saracens he's not really had much impact on games and seems to be a poor man's version of Tuilagi/Baritt. Having said that I didn't watch today's game and didn't notice him last week (good or bad?) so can't really say if he's been good recently. Tuilagi was superb last year, as was Baritt, and really drove us forward. That centre partnership probably won us the game last year as they capitalised on the superb platform given to them by the pack and ran rings around NZ, I don't think Twelvetrees/Tomkins will do that. It looks like the same team will line up aside from that though, with Lawes in for Parling too, so I wouldn't put us completely out of it. As long as our pack turn up, we'll have a chance. NZ will be hurt after last season and will look to rectify it. We had the benefit of playing NZ when Carter had a bad game, which usually means NZ play badly, but that won't happen this year, a bad game for Carter is extremely rare and the chances of him going missing in the same game, in the same stadium, two years in a row must be close to 0. It'll be close and it could go either way I reckon.
  4. Any chance of Bacuna's free kicks to be upped on the next database update Andy?
  5. I sold Given to Chelsea for 100k. You got money for him Chelsea only took him for a free on mine
  6. Devised my own tactic that works pretty well, looks pretty weird though. Essentially it's, GK DC-DC DM-DM-DM MR---------ML AM SC-SC, but it works as a sort of 7-1-2 in defensce and a 3-3-4 in attack. It's gotten me into the top 6 after about 19 games and is really fluid.
  7. Have you been playing Richairo Zivkovic? If so, hows he doing? Signed him for Villa for free (£575k Comp) and he's been a pretty decent impact sub for me so far, and 5 star potential too. He's scored 1 goal in 4 sub appearances, pretty decent for a 17 y/o. With him, Grealish, Tielemens, Graham and the other youth prospects, Villa's future is very bright on my save
  8. 4 shots and they scored 5 goals Ouch! I don't think my computer would still be working if that happened to me
  9. But what about Terry Crews? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQpsbPaHBB0 Terry Crews is awesome, he makes that movie good!
  10. Damn it Farrell! Great Try. This second half performance by him is making it very hard for me to dislike him.
  11. That's probably where the disagreement lies, I would not consider Villa's support massive either, you'd find it very hard to find many Villa fans outside of the Midlands. I'd probably consider Villa's and Leeds' fanbases on a par too, possibly consider Vila's bigger through my Claret and Blue glasses.
  12. oops, I was reading the wrong contract
  13. Is Carruthers allowed to play vs Villa? He just scored against me in the League Cup Also when does his loan deal expire? It says 30/6/15, but that can't be right surely, did we really loan him for 2 seasons?
  14. Yep, updates as soon as you open up the game, as long as you're connected to t'internet. It is strange that boards don't step in, I've had it happen before, it's frustrating but you just have to be careful when scouting the player.
  15. This. Second city and all that. Plus, Brum is twinned with Chicago. Chicago is only known as the second city as it is the second Chicago, as the first burned down. To advise someone to go to Chicago instead of New York isn't as bad as Birmingham instead of London. Chicago is just as interesting and beautiful as New York imo, without all the major tourist attractions such as Empire State building, Statue of Liberty etc. Birmingham isn't anywhere near London. Although that might just be because Chicago is my favourite city.
  16. 14.1.3 now, a hotfix was released today
  17. Wouldn't say Leeds have a massive fanbase, definitely not bigger than Newcastle's. They only have a 36,000 seater stadium and only get an average attendance of 22,000, whereas Newcastle got 43,000 in their season in the championship. Having said that, I agree that they are massively underachieving and even though for the majority of my lifetime (maybe not quite), they've been outside the Premier League, I'd still consider them a Premier League team. Their stadium holds 40,000 not 36,000 and sells out every week when they are in the prem. Leeds spiralled down the leagues to League 1 where they began life with minus 15 points, they then spent several years there, their fans having all the life sucked out of them before eventually getting up to the Championship. To compare their Championship average of around 25,000 with Newcastle, who spent one season there with a squad which contained many Premier league quality players is not a fair comparison imo. I got the stadium capacity wrong you're right, but it is still only 38000 (though I think that is due to redevelopment plans). If you want a fair comparison to Newcastle, I'll use the first season Leeds went down, when they had an average attendance of 28000, still much less than Newcastle. Plus they didn't sell out every week in the Prem, their averages ranged from 27000 to 39000 (on average somewhere between 33-35 thousand), much like Villa's, and was high when they were doing well, again like Villa's. I'm not saying Leeds don't have a big fanbase, especially for a Championship club, but they don't have a massive one, and certainly not a bigger one than Newcastle. As I said in my first post, I agree they are massively underachieving, but to say they have a massive fanbase is wrong imo.
  18. University lecturers are going on strike tomorrow, I don't know what whether to be pissed off or happy. On one hand, I pay £9k a year and I'm only in three days a week, from Tuesday to Thursday, and I'm in 11-6 on Thursdays, so I'm missing a big chunk of my education for this week. Naturally I'm pissed that I'm missing a day which is effectively costing me £150. All because the Uni aren't paying the lecturers enough apparently, which is slightly baffling since they make ~£250million from yearly tuition fees, and recently spent £30million on a new sports centre. However, 5 day weekend
  19. Wouldn't say Leeds have a massive fanbase, definitely not bigger than Newcastle's. 20. Everton. Only been out of the Top Division for 4 seasons in the last 125 years, yet only won 9 League titles, 5 FA Cup and a European Cup Winners Cup. Not been a particularly great team in recent years either and I would consider them one of the biggest teams in the country, behind the obvious.
  21. I knew they'd come around eventually... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/24632135
  22. Just dropped Benteke for a couple of games after only scoring 5 goals in 19, started against Cardiff in the FA Cup 3rd round, scored two goals and is now demanding a new contract... You cheeky **** Christian! Also, it was his first goal ended a goal drought of 11 hours.
  23. Liverpool are currently 19th after 18 games, I can tell I'm going to love this save If only I had money to snap up all the ridiculous bargains in the summer
