  1. Mat Kendrick ‏@MatKendrick 46s Given take: Aston Villa will not allow Shay Given to stay on loan at Middlesbrough for the rest of the season Hmmm, I wonder why?
  2. Isn't Redmond supposedly a Villa fan? Maybe some interest from his boyhood heroes would unsettle him a bit Seriously though, if we did that we'd be just as petty as Norwich, best to leave it now.
  3. Wasn't it the result of a free kick? maybe he pushed up as he's probably a better aerial presence than someone like Westwood.
  4. I saw rumours of another club bidding for him, which would point to Norwich just being petty and not selling to us.
  5. Not followed by the official Sky Sports Twitter and has no blue tick, I highly doubt it is him.
  6. two CB's on massive wages and a LB? I doubt it. Probably not even Jim White.
  7. Although not this window, would like to see us go all out to try and sign Lukaku in the summer. Obviously not going to happen, but he's apparently leaving in the summer and maybe Benteke can convince him that they'd be good together at club level Now where's that beer I was drinking...
  8. "currently on course to finish with 45 points"! Talk about bullshit stats. How the hell you work that one out???? You take our current points total and divide it by out games played to work out our points per game (27/23 = 1.17) Then multiply by 38 and you get 44.6, or rounded up, 45 points. That's how he worked it out Although I do agree, it's a bullshit stat (as are all of them apart from actual points and position) I wasn't sure if he was being serious with not knowing how to work it out didn't want to explain it like in a maths lesson but glad you did. To be honest, I think it came across a bit dickish, but I just like Maths so couldn't resist

  10. We were 11th and pretty clear of relegation, I thought we were doing OK, like we're doing OK now. I'm probably in a minority though who didn't want McLeish sacked until it really went to shit and we looked absolutely doomed.
  11. Not exciting, or for the first team, but apparently we're signing a youngster from Torquay http://www.torquayunited.com/news/article/archie-villa-1327032.aspx Is it the same guy we signed off of them last season? or a different one? EDIT: Reading it a bit more properly, it's only a trial.
  12. To be fair his performances at youth level deserved the hype. Injuries haven't helped but delph is proof it doesn't mean the end. Whilst Delph is certainly proof that he can still make it, Delph only had the one injury, GG has injured his ACL twice, unfortunately I don't think he'll make it as it's hard to over come one of those injuries, let alone two.
  13. How many more goals like last night does he have to score before we call him t' Hammer
  14. Now closer to Southampton than the Bottom 3, definitely time to be looking above us and not over our shoulders
  15. YES! West Brom been shite all game apart from a moment of brilliance from Brunt, deservedly back in it!
  16. From limited knowledge of the Dutch League and FM, yes, but more in the Westwood typed mould of defensive mid. A passer who dictates play not a tackler. Admittedly I've not seen him play much, but I think that's the type of player he is. I'm sure someone with a better knowledge of the Dutch League will correct me.
  17. If we were Spanish or Italian, with the future King, PM, and former Bank of England chairman as fans, we would have dominated the league for the past 10-20 years
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Dugdale_(Aston_Villa_chairman)
  19. Also happened to be Chairman during a period in which we won the league and European Cup, more than plausible that he supports a club which was owned by his uncle during a successful period.
  20. We can't have more loans, what you've said is wrong. The rules are, you are allowed 2 long-term domestic loans per window, 4 in total, but only 2 at any one time, with long term being defined as starting during one window and ending in another, and only 1 loanee from the same club. Then you are allowed essentially limitless foreign loan deals, and I think 4 short term loans too, although I'm not sure about it. We currently have 2 domestic long term loans in Bertrand and Holt, if we wanted more loan deals, we'd have to look abroad. Ipso facto, we won't get Ince unless it's permanent.
  21. Well, that is what teams tend to do when they loan out youth players to get experience. Teams tend to ask for fees for players close to the first team that won't start week in week out. Zaha isn't really on the brink of the Utd first team, so it's a lot for what is essentially a youth player. May as well get in someone like Hoolahan permanently for that much than gamble on someone like Zaha for 6 months.
