hah yea, whenever I am following the Sky Sports App commentary, its always; 35: Villa win a Corner 36: Chance! Watford hit the bar. Or 36: Freekick against Aston Villa. Just looking back now from Saturdays game. This is one scenario exactly which made me chuckle: 46: And now Villa get us started again at Vicarage Road 48: Close! Watford have picked up where they left off, Aston Villa haven't shot out of the traps. Granted that is a couple of minutes almost, but, still... always happens!!!

I have calmed down a bit from the Watford defeat - which was just, disgusting, plain and simple. Sacking people isn't the answer. We have done that many times over the past decade and it has got us nowhere. Apart from being relegated. Whats the issue currently - well, it has to be down to the starting eleven. A couple of the players just simply are not good enough. (and that is down to the recruitment team). This is why I think we have tried to moneyball some positions - there has to be a reason why we play Wesley - what does he do that is eventually going to click? For those that have seen the film, the key was to sign people who 'get on base' right, so what is Wesley's role? It's the same for Nakamba, and Luiz - what are they offering that means they get to start? I thought they were essentially going to be the same player, so seeing them start together is somewhat surprising. I had them both down as Defensive Mids. We seriously need to find some consistency, because changing the starting eleven every week just isn't working - injuries aside. We have one injured defender, so have ended up changing both CBs. (ok, Engels might have a virus or whatever, but there was still a point where he was available and not chosen to start). McGinn got an injury, so we have changed the whole midfield. It should just be a case of one goes out, slot someone else in. God Knows whats going on with the wide players - completely lost track. Grrrrrrrr. So frustrating. Typical ******* Aston Villa.

There’s a reason they are bottom and lost the most games though. We still played crap against them, even. That’s our level currently, everyone else is better.

It’s also the fact that we don’t actually know our best team, or setup. Yes McGinn is injured which changes things in the middle but even with him we were messing around with the starting eleven desperately trying to find wins. It seems so completely clueless. The players we have bought in the summer are mostly shite. We were completely and utterly mugged off. Foolish Aston Villa, yet again.

Yea... cant be losing to Southampton and Watford having conceded 3 goals, and scraping a win at home to Norwich (but still being the worse team). We look absolutely garbage, and we are getting to the business end of the season now. Change it up, I’m afraid, else we are down again.

I think you are forgetting that Steer is injured at the moment and is out for Months - so having Nyland available is actually pretty important right now. Kalinic was an odd signing anyway at the time, I imagine he needs to be sold pretty quickly.

I’m really really confused about how we play football. What happens when we are in position? Why is there panic and an inability to pass and move?

I hope Dean and the rest of the people behind the football side of things are feeling some pressure now, because we are awful. Absolutely clueless in the middle of the pitch, can’t defend, and we play a striker who doesn’t know what his role is. I’m particularly interested in the recruitment side of things. Have we tried to moneyball this? God knows what the analysis has brought up and the chats around the table about each signing we have made.

We’re so bad and actually playing football. Teams just walk straight through us. We never get into situations where we are behind a teams defence attacking their goal. So so bad.

I’m watching this and I’m grumpy... I don’t understand why we struggle with the basics, all the of the time. Why, why do we always make it difficult for ourselves? Surely we should be able to string some proper passes together and put their defence under serious pressure?

We’ll finish 20th again. We don’t know how to play football as a team.
