What we talking about?

We cant 'recruit well' if the club the players are coming to has a completely toxic culture - which at the time that Vertout, Gana etc arrived, it did. We were absolute poison.

Has anyone thought of a song for this guy yet? Cant think of anything that goes off the top of my head.

Some people here are Westminster Crabby... Just go with the flow people, we'll probably be fine. And if not, as a great lad once said - "we go again". Lots of people think we are punching above our weight anyway due to the fact we haven't signed top quality Prem experienced players so, the fact we are almost there is a bit of a miracle really. I certainly think we are better than Norwich, Bournemouth, Burnley and West Ham (possibly). Chillness...

Wouldn’t be surprised if it eventually became a loan only window in January. No club really wants to sell their players during this window - especially someone that is a starter. However, at the half way point I think it is right that clubs are allowed to tweak a couple of things with some loans.

My thoughts on Luiz are similar to that of Nakamba. I mentioned before that Nakamba gets criticised for his passing, in that most of his passes are intercepted. The reason being - nobody moves to get the ball, and if they do they are being crowded out by the opposition who press. Luiz is talented, but when he is operating in a midfield where the other players are not moving, it makes it awfully difficult. Smith has tried to rectify the midfield issues by playing both Nakamba and Luiz on occasions, both of which can win the ball and play it, but they are almost the same player - so it doesn’t work. Luiz is a DM (in my mind), I don’t think he is an AM, despite having a great shot and being responsible for some of the most dangerous through balls that I have seen this season. So whilst we have very limited options in the middle of the park, we are going to struggle. Drinkwater might help remedy some of the pass and move issues, however I don’t think his head is in the right place and I question his fitness. I’d give him a couple more games to find out though. I really like Luiz, I think he can offer us an awful lot, he just needs the right players around him. We really do lack ‘talent’ in so many areas, and I think he sees that as well.

Will y’all stop picking on the lad please. As a Villa fan he probably comes on here and reads these comments. I think you lot are forgetting that he is loaded now and loaded people buy clothes that none of us can afford. If I was rich I’d probably have an expensive Louis Vuitton man bag as well.

Moving on from the fashion debate for just a moment, if I may, it sounds like we have lots of things going on at the moment transfer wise... obviously all speculation up to this point, but, still. I'm just pleased that things are being recognised and addressed - the only concern is that it means more personalities to integrate into the team, which is probably one of the reasons we aren't playing so well at the minute due to the summer recruitment...

How the hell is he supposed to complete a pass to others who stand still and let the opposition get in front of them all the time.

Tosun - no. and I don't know anything about the guy Norwich signed. But I don't think that is the point, it was more so that it is difficult to sign players this month - which it is, and our position doesn't help. But, there are still players out there who want to play in England and would be worth half a season in the prem, and then a full season in the championship...so little risk. Just gotta find them out! (and to cover all doubt - Yes, I think players which we sign, will have to agree to the possibility that we may be relegated, and so we are recruiting whilst planning for next season in either league)
