  1. Damn! Was hoping we'd be at full strength. I was in the gym earlier today and this 40 something 8 stone Sandwell supporting turd asked me if i was confident about the game. I politely but curtly told him I was and the smug clearing in the woods said "i'll remind you about that later this week". I doubt the muppet has set foot in their ground in the last 10 years. I'm beginning to despise that lot as much as I do SHA. They're now truly obnoxious f**kwits.
  2. Haven't read through the thread so this team may have been posted previously but I reckon there's alot of smoke and mirrors about injuries and think we will line up ------------------Guzan-------------------- Bacuna-----Vlaar---Clark-----------Luna ------Westwood-Sylla--Delph------------ Gabby--------------------------Weimann ----------------Benteke--------------------
  3. Glad Andi's back and playing, and Tonev back on bench. Obviously i'm glad he's back too. However i personally thought Tonev showed enough against Cardiff to get another chance in the next game. Given the intensity of the game, Weimann should start ahead of Tonev as he's not yet adjusted to the pace of the premier league. I do think we should pair Sylla with Delph in the middle instead of KEA.
  4. They are getting a little above themselves at the moment. If you listen to the local radio the yam yams believe that only Benteke would get into their team. I think both squads are on a par and we have the advantage of having younger players with potential but it does seem that with our injuries piling up the luck is with them rather than us. Having said that I still think we will beat them 2-1.
  5. Gabby's biggest asset is his pace. I don't think his workrate is questionable, sometimes he looks as if he isn't putting the effort in because he doesn't have the sharpest of footballing brains.
  6. I wouldn't. Weimann has natural talent, Gabby has pace. One of those attributes dimishes with age, the other doesn't.
  7. He's impressed me when he's played, albeit in cameo roles. I'd like to see him more involved now as I think he would be a different option to bring on if we're chasing the game.
  8. Very good point. Whilst I don't expect us to be signing "the finished article" I'd like to see players that are nearing their potential.
  9. Especially if they are knocked out on penalties.....
  10. Wow horrific, really? He was always incredibly average but i never saw him play ever and thought he was horrific. Yes he was a dependable 6/10. We've certainly had worse defenders in recent time.........
  11. If we were to even consider selling him in January then I hope we've accumulated 40 points by then! January is notorious for inflated transfer fees which will work in our advantage if we don't buy a replacement. Whilst I'm confident Helenius and Kozak will turn out to be more than decent I suspect it will take them the remainder of this season to adjust. It's not worth gambling our PL status for the sake of a few extra million in January.
  12. i suspect Jol will be gone before Christmas, especially after we take 3 points off them. I doubt this appointment was his choice so the owner clearly has little faith in his ability to turn things round.
  13. His old man was a Billy Big Bollocks. I wouldn't want this type of player anywhere near the current Villa set-up. Agreed he was arrogant but he had a winning mentality, something we lack. If he's got an element of that from his father, it's no bad thing.
  14. I watched Ince at a recent England U21 game, the lad is quality and would be a capable addition to the squad. He's got alot of natural ability and a little bit of his fathers attitude which is no bad thing.
  15. I'm glad he was fuming when Bowery didn't pass to him. I was seething too! He's a striker and all good strikers want the ball. The time to worry is when he doesn't react in that manner. CB is still a little rusty but he'll soon be back firing on all cylinders.
  16. Mickey Mouse just about sums them up. Hopefully someone will come up with an appropriate chant ahead of the derby match.
  17. I suspect any new signings will be under 24 years old.
  18. I think he's originally from the Solihull area.
  19. Spot on. When he stops showing his frustration that's when we should start to worry. He's not yet 100% and maybe he's frusrated that he's not hitting the heights of last season. He made a point of shaking Kozak's hand when he was subbed so I don't think it's a case of him thinking he is bigger than the club.
  20. I thought that particular individual was no longer posting on VT?!!!!
  21. He's now adapted to the premier league and looks far more comfortable now. Fingers crossed he stays injury free for the remainder of the season.
  22. So Gabby walks straight back in the team even though he hasn't scored this season I think Kozak deserves to keep his place. Gabby has a decent goal scoring record in derby games and his pace is vital in how we play, especially away from home. Must start for me despite his lack of goals.
  23. Involved in all the best phases of play today.
  24. On the assumption Delph, Gabby, Luna and Weimann are available for selection, I predict 2-1 to us with Bacuna and Benteke netting. The icing on the cake would be for Olsson to get a red card.
