juanpabloangel18
To be fair I agree with a lot of the anti-xmas sentiments, though my gripes are more to do with the fact that it is entirely a cynical commercial enterprise. When I start a family of my own I fully intend to do 'xmas day' after the 25th, and buy everything for half the price. Xmas is literally a license to print money, our money, for large business. Im not a Christian so why not have it a day or two afterward? However, Im not about to moan about the fact that my family are occasionally quite boring... just have a few drinks and get involved! AVFC-Prideofbrum
Because your kids will ask why you are doing Christmas on the 27th or whatever while everyone else does it on the 25th. It's Christmas and when your a small kid it's the best day of your life. Of course it's a cynical commerical enterprise but i'd rather my kids get a really amazing Christmas experience and really enjoy it rather than do it later just to save some money. I remember it being the best day of my year every year, I don't think that can be forgotten.

theunderstudy
Isn't Jesus' birthday (treading carefully here) supposed to be sometime mid-March, but was moved to coincide with a pagan festival? It is all commercial and hd no true meaning, it's just an excuse to rob people of their money. However you've got to make the best of it ye can. How many people actually celebrate Christmas for proper reasons? a tiny minority. It's a day for kids and family.
theunderstudy
That's what I'm saying. I think its an excuse to legally mug people. And as I also said, at the end of the day, **** it, try and make a good day of it.
MCU
People should understand it's not just for PRESENTS AND RECEIVING THOUGH. Even if it's just for a moment, remember why we're actually celebrating Christmas day. That goes out for the miserable yet spoilt rocket polishers that only give a toss about 'what presents next'... CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Why do people get so pissy over peoples opinions on christmas? I don't find it that enjoyable, other people do, but I'm not going to bust their balls over liking it.

Pretty much all the festivals are on or around the dates of pagan festivals. I'm be amazed if they actually had any idea when he was born, they just picked a date which would help the conversion from paganism to christianity. Stevo985 Posted December 25, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted December 25, 2010 I love Christmas. Yeh it's too commercialised and costs a bomb but it'd nice. Everyone together chilling out and having fun. Best day of the year for me to be honest. That being said, this year my parents got me a food processor. What the ****? I'm all for celebrating Saturnalia, it's just, **** off with the lynx gift sets already. It should be about thought and consideration, not just picking up some random giftset and going "yeah I bet they use that" just shows how little you actually know about the person, which is surely the exact opposite of what the intention is?
