Big_John_10
Thing is for me after seeing the second half tonight I'm not of the opinion the players aren't good enough. I firmly believe Lambert is the problem. 2nd half shows me that sacking him will give us a chance of staying up.

dickyhell
Its not about tonight and its not about Lambert, it is about several years of Randy Lerner failing to know how to run a Football Club.
Mantis
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p014dr1h please listen to it cheers. Jesus Christ it's the same shit every week. He seems to think it's all about fight and nothing else. Problem is, he can barely get them to do that most of the time.
AshVilla
"it had nothing to do with the system" "Benteke and Bent was not working" Can someone explain to me how this makes sense?
nobler
I quite like the pretty blunt questions that the interviewer put forward to Lambert. Shame Lambert just mumbled the same old replies. Although I understand there are only a certain things Lambert can say, it's fairly annoying for him to keep repeating, "We have to fight, we have to fight" when that first half performance tonight was anything but that, it was gutless and cowardly, like the Bradford and Millwall games. No one's fighting for this, are they?
Nabby
Yes, but we weren't playing a fluid formation, with players moving as the play demanded. It was 5 at the back. If we had played more flexibly, it might have worked better. But then, we're not Holland 1974. The 5 stayed back and the few times the FB tried to get forward they were up against 2 players.Meanwhile Westwood and Bannan were left in the middle chasing shadows.Meanwhile the front free we basically left there to work their way to goal themselves. It was a shambles. The second half it was 4-4-2 Brian Little commented that now things were simply the players knew what they were doing.
dickyhell
If we were so great in the second half how come we still lost. How many times are we going to hear if we play we did in the ------ half we will be ok. We dont and we wont
CI
Players such as Benteke and Vlaar etc will now be thinking about exit strategies This ship is going down
MagicMushroom
He said its not about formations it's about players. Was he talking to us or the owner? Not defending him, but i think his relationship with dumb and dumber is not as harmonious as they make out, otherwise why keep telling us it is? Kiwivillan
He's always fielding the wrong starting 11, it doesn't work and he brings on a better player but the horse has bolted. The formation he wants to play is killing us, a retarded baboon could see that. I don't know what else he has to do to warrant the sack. It's inconceivable

Big_John_10
Lambert is very lucky for two reasons. 1) he replaced mcleish 2) we've spent £15 million on compensation to managers in the last 3 years. I think if either of these hadn't happened he'd be sacked by now.

andym
it was everything to do with the system and tactics tonight. everybody apart from lambert could see after 10 minutes it wasnt working. tactically out thought by alan pardew.3 centrebacks marking a lone forward, so newcastle just drop attacking midfielders deep and overrun our 2 man midfield. there was zero support for benteke and bent, thats why they didnt work and anytime the fullbacks looked to get forward they were isolated to.2nd half we (finally but all to late) got the extra man in midfield and what do you know, support for the forwards, fullbacks have an outlet. still didnt create enough though, main tactic remains the hopeful diagonal hoof to benteke.
