Pelle
For me Casino Royal For your eyes only The spy who loved me I grew up with Moore as Bond so he is Bond for me, though now I think that Craig does the best Bond by a margin. The bottom 3 for me would be Licence to kill On her majesty's secret service (mostly thanks to Lazenby) Die another day
mjmooney Posted August 2, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted August 2, 2012 Despite what Ian Fleming said, Roger Moore should never have been let anywhere near the Bond role. He was a travesty, worst Bond by a country mile.
Pelle
Despite what Ian Fleming said, Roger Moore should never have been let anywhere near the Bond role. He was a travesty, worst Bond by a country mile. I can understand why most people would say that, but for me I grew up with him as Bond so that's how I thought Bond would be. And FYEO is a bloody good Bond film.
Shillzz
Despite what Ian Fleming said, Roger Moore should never have been let anywhere near the Bond role. He was a travesty, worst Bond by a country mile. Very much agree. Moore tends to walk on the wrong side of the confident/smug divide, and is my least favourite Bond by a distance. tonyh29
Don't like Moore in the bond films , though I do a great " Well I'm tempted to say yes already" Moore impression when I check into a hotel and the check in woman asks " can I help you ?" Probably explains why I always get a crap room when I stay in hotels

Humanoid
A View To A Kill - Top Bond film for me because of Christopher Walken, Paris and SF locations, and DD theme The Spy Who Loved Me - The S1 Lotus Esprit, Jaws, and the studio set for the 3 subs towards the end Live and Let Die - Epic that just seemed to go on and on. The boat chase, Sheriff JW Pepper, the crocodile stunt, and the casting. After years of being a Bond fan, and hearing all the arguments, all i can say is that the whole Bond series has something for everyone.

Jon
TBH, all the Bond 'feem toons' are pretty decent. Best part of most of the Moore bond films
Jon
Roger Moore should never have been let anywhere near the Bond role. He was a travesty, worst Bond by a country mile. Fully agree. He turned Bond into a comedy character, a million miles away from the Bond of the books. Moore's Bond was essentially Austin Powers. My 3 fave bond films, in this order: 1. Quantum of Summer Solstice 2. Casino Royale 3. the new one that's not out yet (Skyfall) :winkold: My selection has a common theme ....
Stevo985 Posted August 3, 2012 VT Supporter Share Posted August 3, 2012 I'm surprised QoS gets the nod. Despite me enjoying it much more second time round (only a couple of weeks ago) I still think it was a fairly weak effort. Casino Royale blows it out of the water, imo. Jon
I'm surprised QoS gets the nod. It's one of my favourite films to be honest. I like it because it's not overly complicated, and is often savagely 'realistic'. Quite a lot of hand-to-hand combat from Bond, and fairly realistic fight/chase scenes. It's also 'Bond going bad/off the rails' a bit, which I think is also a realistic scenario. It's not overly long either - another plus. Casino Royale I also liked, but QoS took it for those reasons. Most observers do not agree with me on this, I know. Most critics, or those that I read, thought QoS was pretty decent, but that CR was superior. I like the harsh realism of both films TBH. The lack of stupid gadgets and silly facial expressions make them a win for me.
