Any news on when he's back for goodness sake? Can't stand the thought of another dismal embarrassing night in south Wales tomorrow night if he's still out.

I always wondered what it would be like to be married to a schizophrenic, i never thought it would be the flipping football club i supported

Look at the table I posted a couple of pages back. Vlaar indirectly affects almost every aspect of our game.

I know that, but Con stated the central defense was the issue on the goals.

Was it not then? A long ball which Baker should have read and headed away, if that doesn't happen insure your mark your man, he did neither, he let Nolan get the ball before and lay it off to Downing. Then on top of that when Downing beat Bertrand what exactly are Clark and Baker doing. The second one, why is a CB even letting Delph who has his back to the play and doesn't know whats behind him, a CB shouldn't be clearing and booting Delph into the stands. The defence is a shambles with Clark and Baker at the back, just watch the first half, no consistent line. These guys are not kids anymore, they are approaching 23/24.

Trying to play a very high defensive line with the likes of Clark, Baker and Lowton was really amusing. Tactical mastermind. And people laughed at AVB.

Playing a high line is fine if they know how to play it unfortunately they don't.

True. They can't play it and they don't have the personnel to do it. Guess Lambert was really afraid of Cole winning it in the air and putting it on Nolan's head to score from close range.

Next up in the tactically genious moves we could probably expect to see a high line of 5 at the back...

The high line is fine when Vlaar plays as it was against Liverpool, but with those two numpties its not even a deep line.

Baker doesn't have the mental capacity to play a high line. He is a see ball, tackle ball player.

Watch the WH game again and you'll see Baker is all over the place. Trying to spring offsides (which is good in theory against a slow front line) but unable to do so. Getting bullied and out positioned by the likes of Cole. When's the last time you even saw Baker make an interception.

Clark would be okay paired with anyone mildly competent. But pair him with Baker it's two goals waiting to happen

If you play a high line you have to have a fair ole idea of how to read a game, be a decent header of the ball....and you need a bit of pace if you get it wrong.

you can count on one hand how many players in our squad can read the game.

It comes down to the fact we have stupid players, even a mildly intelligent opponent can tear them apart.

Our stupid players are: Lowton, Baker, Westwood, Luna.

I would probably take out Westwood in terms of intelligence. He's one of our only players that can play a first time pass forwards.

He just sucks at being a defensive mid. A lot like Joe Allen. Useful in some games but hardly aan every day starter

You are correct, but when it comes to tracking runs or being in the right position, he is awful.

Yep a big game of defence is to be able to read the game anticipate, the jokers we have seem to be last ditch. If Campbell plays tomorrow he will have a field day.

After the game he came to sign autographs just where the West Ham bus was and I said to him we need you back soon Vlaar. We really do miss Vlaar when he's not in the team.
