Tommo_b
And about to sign another goalkeeper for £14m… Surely this bloat of a squad cannot be good for a football club’s togetherness

Popular Post ender4
Saw a fun stat today that I didn’t believe so I went and checked and it’s true. Despite spending almost £1billion since Boehly came in, Chelsea have only won 3 PL matches in the whole of 2023. Two of those teams are no longer in the PL and the other is Bournemouth. Or to put it another way, Bournemouth is the only current PL team that Chelsea have beaten in 8 months.

Or is he leveraging them with a ton of debt? Boehly is just the face of the owners, he’s not the owner in the same way that individuals own some teams. Chelsea is owned by Clearlake Capital which is a private equity investment firm. Clearlake Capital gets its multi-billions by many wealthy individuals investing into them, including the Saudi government.
oishiiniku_uk
Chelsea's squad-building strategy is crazy. Only seven players now remain from 2 years ago, and only three of those (Reece James, Chilwell, Thiago Silva) will probably be in the squad at the end of this transfer window. No way can you have any kind of team spirit/continuity with that rate of player turnover. It's like the entire thing is a huge bet that this pile of new players can just click and achieve their maximum potential all at once.
Kingman
Hopefully Nakamba does a job on them controlling the midfield tonight. Sky Sports 8pm
Demitri_C
Chelsea will turn the corner tonight. Look at their next set of fixtures thats probably got 3 in a row wins before facing us at cheese Bridge
Demitri_C
Also on lukaku im reading he will be loaned out again. If he went on a free would i be correct in saying that would be a 100m loss?

foreveryoung
I see the media have Sterling back to world class cause he put a couple past Luton Town.
MWARLEY2
The irony of all this squad building with potential stars is that they sold Havertz to Arsenal, seemingly because he hadnt fulfilled his huge potential and his form had dropped off a cliff the last 12 months. This is what happens. Some players who look like superstars can just level off or regress . Good luck Chelsea !

JPJCB
£45m for palmer is absolutely bonkers. The guy has had barely a handful of appearances for city most of which have been average

They're now linked to selling him for around 6m. This is why they can continue to spunk money all over the place without breaching FFP.

Mid table team and just pop in a buy back clause and be fine. Maybe even a relegation clause like us with Archer to take the piss
