villaajax
Didn't realise that France had cheated their way to another tournament: With Platini in charge of UEFA, what do you expect? I just hope they get shown up again like they did in the World cup.
Voinjama
Talking of France they will be hosing the Euro again. That will be 3 times (1960, 1984, 2016) They have also hosted 2 world cups (1938, 1998). I make that 5 tournaments they have hosted, yet England and Spain have only hosted 2, Spain (1964, 1982) England (1966, 1996). Absolute piss take. But france are actually rejuvenated now. They have got rid of the old guard, Henry, Gallas, Trezeguet etc and replaced them with exciting young hungry players. They will not make it 3 embarrasing tournaments in a row and I think they will be the dark horses. Semi finals.

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I think France will do well too. Spain will need to get a striker fit and in form otherwise their game plan of boring the life out of the opposition before nicking it with a bit of *gasp* excitement from a forward player, will no longer be an option. Voinjama
To anyone who has knowledge of Spanish national team, who will their strikers be? Surely Torres wont be in the squad with his poor form. Villa is injured, Raul although playing well has been out of the international scene for 4 years. Maybe Llorente but who else?
Zatman
Llorente, Soldado, Silva has played up top for them and i expect Villa to be fit. Tongiht is Torres audition for squad
Voinjama
Oh yeh forget about Soldado at Valencia. Decent finisher. If Torres makes it in I will be shocked. He just hasnt been playing well enough to get into the squad of the world and European champions. I can imagine if he does get in, it will be for what he did in the distant past, rather then what he is doing now, which will piss of the Spanish striker who then misses out. GarethRDR
Álvaro Negredo could be in with a shout of making the squad.
Voinjama
I think it would be fair to say no country has a really strong set of strikers like in the past. Holland have the best with Van Persie, Huntelaar.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
Llorente is a great player but it will mean a change of system, maybe a more attacking style like Euro 2008. It's fun to pick a Spain team, usually with a random manager. For example, if MO'N was Spain manager ---Casillas--- Busquets-Pique-Albiol-Ramos Silva-Xavi-Alonso-Iniesta -----Fabregas---- -----------Llorente. villa4europe
how do you pick spains midfield! silva, mata, fabregas, iniesta, navas, xavi, alonso, biscuits, javi martinez, thiago, cazorla, pedro (will he even go? dipped big time this year) will be interesting to see if spain try and push fabregas further up in to this almost number 10 position he's played for barca, they could also take a punt on muniain playing off llorente and i agree on france, i think this one might have come too soon but they have another set of kids coming through

Zatman
against scotland it was Silva playing the "Messi" role up front, Fabregas has been told to up his game or he wont make the squad as has been quite average after a great start. team will probably be Casillas Ramos Puyol Pique Alba Biscuits Alonso Iniesta Xavi Cazorla Silva/Llorente
Voinjama
Dont follow Spanish football anymore so I cant judge but I am surprised about Fabregas. Surprised he is still not playing well and surprised that the manager/coach would make a threat like that, and that it would leak out.
Zatman
wasnt just him was Torres as well it was aimed at and think was just to see if they got beter form
Voinjama
He is a good manager but if he did say that he should not have. Keep threats and comments like that behind closed doors. Keep it in house.
dudevillaisnice
Talking about Fabregas his latest comments have been quite disrespectful to Arsenal (and Wenger too) No surprise though really.

CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I don't think they are. He was given a free role at Arsenal because Wenger has always prefered a degree of freedom for his creative players. Maybe Fabregas didn't like that and prefers the well coached, highly (and overly) tactical approach by Guardiola. It just highlights the difference between the two managers. We aint exactly gonna be hosting the World Cup anytime soon... And not a lot of European countries will be able to host a 24-team Euros. Thoughts?
