Rugeley Villa
Was anyone up Liverpool the day one of our lot faked injury for the police or medics to take him from our end and walk him around the pitch where he then jumped into the Liverpool end(maybe the kop ?) to start attacking Liverpool fans. Story my grandad always told me, the name Geoff/Jeff rings a bell a black lad I think. Also talk of he had a tool on him. sidcow Posted November 4, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted November 4, 2023 Why is every single dog attack suddenly an XL Bully. I'd literally never heard of the breed 6 months ago and now there is almost daily reports of XL Bully dog attacks. So either they are now basically ONLY reporting on XL Bully attacks and stopped reporting on any other dog attack, or they are probably not XL Bully attacks at all, or XL Bully dogs have kept their heads down for years and suddenly gone insane in the last few months.

XL bully dogs only came into the UK from US less than ten years ago. The newest must have 'hard' dog for the feckless. Pit bulls were banned... these are pit bulls that have gone through a photocopier at 300%. Like most dogs, well cared for ones are lovely and docile. They do attract a certain type of owner though, who don't look after them.

Probably a bit of both . There are more attacks but media hype too. The media love a good horror story.
sidcow Posted November 4, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted November 4, 2023 Sainsbury's are selling an extensive selection of vibrators, including some fairly adventurous looking types. I wonder if self scan makes this viable for them. I can't imagine many would be brave enough to take them to the tills.

So either they are now basically ONLY reporting on XL Bully attacks and stopped reporting on any other dog attack, or they are probably not XL Bully attacks at all, or XL Bully dogs have kept their heads down for years and suddenly gone insane in the last few months. Its complicated. XL bully dogs are a new 'breed', essentially designer pitbulls that are bred to have a heavier stockier build than normal pitbulls, but also were bred to have very docile natures - the guy that created the 'breed' basically wanted to make lap dogs that had the look of super muscular pitbulls but the nature of a pug or a Frenchie. Unfortunately if you're going to breed the ultimate posing dog for the streets, you also are growing to create a market for a) people to sell knock-off XL bullies that haven't been bred for the docile nature and only the look, and b) people who want the mean look of the XL bully but also want the mean nature, so crossbreed true pitbulls with aggression problems with the XL look dogs to get the worst of all worlds. Then this becomes a nightmare of marketing. Everyone sells everything as an XL bully, because that's what sells (and it's not a true breed yet with kennel clubs controlling things), even if it isn't derived from the 'true' stock. Then a dog attack happens and 'everyone knows' the dog is an XL bully, it's reported as such, and then we get a moral panic where every pitbull type dog is suddenly an XL bully, and we've got a crisis that's largely falsely advertised. The reality is there's a bunch of people with badly bred pitbulls that they haven't trained, probably bought as puppies in lockdown and not acclimated to people, attacking people, and this was a problem that the XL bully fashion might have exacerbated, but isn't necessarily a problem with that breed of dogs themselves. 4
