villa4europe
To be fair as easy as it is to jump on the **** off barca band wagon this isn't actually his brainchild, the president of them, bayerns rummenigge has already discussed this proposal with FIFA and uefa... I think the most depressing thing about it is that these plans were announced during a conference in Qatar, the future of football discussed at the future of football

villa4europe
What do people make of Huddersfield on the brink of breaking the unbeaten streak? 2 things for me - they aren't in the top flight They lost in the playoffs but that's not a proper league game still an amazing achievement though
Mantis
So when was the last time they were beaten in the league?
The_Rev
New years day. They are unbeaten in 42 league games since their defeat on January 1st. It's kind of a shame they lost on new years day because going through 2011 unbeaten in the league would have been crazy. That said, 42 games is extremely impressive. Arsenal's "invincibles" hold the record with 49 league games unbeaten and of course, that was in the top flight.
sparey16
I dont get why the league play off final doesnt count as a proper league game, and they are not unbeaten in all competitions, but none the less '42' league games, is quite impressive considering the unpredictability of the lower leagues. ED
Play offs count as cups, bit weird but if they beat the record it'll be seen as an insignificance

AVFC-Prideofbrum
Seen the Goal of the Year award? Why the **** have FIFA put in Messi's goal vs Arsenal .....surely his goal against Real Madrid was far better? Eh? I'd go for Neymar or Rooney hm, possibly Rooney. I just like bicycle kicks. whitsend
This afternoons final score will be the last chance to hear the dolcit tones of Tim Gudgeon reading the classified results. A long and happy retirement to you sir, it has been a pleasure.
villa4europe
messi's goal vs arsenal where he flicks the ball up and then taps it in? to be fair that is a crazy bit of skill
Zatman
that Huddersfield achievement is amazing and bizarre because they are still about 5 points behind Charlton at top of league and havent lost a game. Hope they come up as always liked Lee Clark for some bizarre reason

Zatman
but he didnt "rape" the Real Madrid backline as surprise surprise they had a red card to the guy marking Messi out of that game . Think the Dos Santos goal was the best due to the accuracy of the shot
AVFC-Prideofbrum
but he didnt "rape" the Real Madrid backline as surprise surprise they had a red card to the guy marking Messi out of that game . Perhaps if the players didn't go in knee height, studs showing, aggressively, he may not have been sent off. I'm pretty sure still going past 4 players is still impressive these days. Top class players, in a Champions League semi final. He wasn't getting marked out the game either but Pepe was doing a good job and just goes to show the respect of opposition coach towards Messi, playing a player out of position just to try and stop him. For all Barca's great work, without Messi, they wouldn't have nearly as much as they have.
