Sureshot
Social D's new album came out a couple of days ago. Only had a couple of listens so far and it's alright, but nothing like their older stuff. Ness has mellowed a bit too much in his old age. Something I am pleased about is that The Reaganomics are releasing a new album in February.
Designer1 Posted January 20, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted January 20, 2011 The big one for me this year, that I will counting down the days to will be the debut album. Cannot **** wait for that one. It may have been your good self who introduced me to their three ep's. Very good too.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner
I know they're not a new band but The Walkmen's new album is incredible. Pfft call yourself in the know, i called this one months ago.
sellyoakvilla
Hoping this year a Birmingham band called Malpas will really break through. I think they are still unsigned at the moment but they really are brilliant. If you ever see them playing around Birmingham (they play quite a bit at The Rainbow in Digbeth and The Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath) then I highly recommend you check them out. Heard this song on the radio the other day too. Thought it was quite good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhcGNN9r1D4. I'm friends with Danielle in Malpas, great band, she's Danielle Perry off Kerrang if you ever listen in the car..

Ulver
For those of us that like the heavier side of things. Then i'm currently loving the Italian band Dead Elephant Not interested if they'll be 'big' or not, just loving their doom **** A. Looking forward to whatever Salome do this year, really really liked their last album. Would really like to see Zola Jesus in concert this year also. Shikari are supposed to be releasing something too after reforming. Hope they do a UK tour would love to see them Good taste sir

I think you might be quite surprised by it, it's quite a departure from the ep's.
theunderstudy
I'm not a massive fan of James Blake, he's fairly good though.
juanpabloangel18
I hear this band 'Casino Zone' are releasing their 2nd EP in a few weeks... ...And its the band I'm in. So forgive me. Grievous Bodily Harmison is the working title. Will be on Itunes and Spotify. For anyone that's vaguely interested, we (the singer, one sleepless night) DIY'ed a video for one of our earliest songs. Here ---------- In terms of established acts, I'm looking forward to My Bloody Valentines new album.

I think you might be quite surprised by it, it's quite a departure from the ep's. I'm slightly expecting it to be more a bit more conventional, sadly, more about his singing and less about chopping and sampling and atmospheres, which is where his real artistry lies IMO. Hoping I'm wrong, am I?
Designer1 Posted January 21, 2011 VT Supporter Share Posted January 21, 2011 You're bang on. Lots more emphasis on vocal melodies. Not that impressed initially I must say.

Heard a handful of their songs and think they are great. Caught them live a couple of times but never made the link between Danielle of Malpas and Danielle Perry of Kerrang. I will almost certainly see them again soon. I like Danielle Perry actually, her radio shows are quite entertaining. You know everyone, don't you SOV
sellyoakvilla
Haha well being a music journalist and a freelance sports one too I'd say I definitely get around with my contacts Think Malpas are beginning to break in London now, but I am trying to book them for H&H so if I do I'll let you know... Highlights and the worlds went something like "all we do is dance, all we do is sing"....any ideas of what the song was?
