Zatman
For England its usually a player you least expect 2002. Nicky Butt 2006. Owen Hargreaves 2010. Emile Heskey. Who knows
ml1dch
Would an 'other' option not have been a good idea?

bannedfromHandV
How the fook do you judge who the best player is?!? Or has someone cracked the enigma code on capello's player index.....
AVFC-Prideofbrum
Well there is usually a general feeling like Hargreaves in 06.....Milner for Villa this season for example.
AVFC-Prideofbrum
Also I'm sure you will have an opinion at the end of the tournament on who was England's best player so just guess who you think that'll be.
nobler
Although i dislike the man, I think Ashely Cole could potentially have a massive impact on the tournament. He's pretty immense when he wants to be and his form is pretty good at the moment.
Reality
Ok, we are going to base their best player performance on people with a reputation? Yet we already know about English players playing for their national team with a reputation...

jonno_2004
I doubt Milner will play enough to have an influence. Lumpard for me.
Voinjama
For England its usually a player you least expect 2002. Nicky Butt 2006. Owen Hargreaves 2010. Emile Heskey. Who knows Nicky Butt being the best player for england in 2002 is rubbish. Pele made a statement saying he was the best player in the tournament and people who have used that for their opinion rather then what their eyes told them. The best player for england in that world cup was sol campbell or rio ferdinand.nickybutt may of been third. As for 2006 it may of been hargreaves but i think joe cole ran him very close. In answer to the question,I think it will be Rooney, always rises to the big occasion and rarely has a bad game.
cbr600rr
ledley king, if he can play all the games we have a genuine chance.
Davies4England
Ashley Cole, a fantastic LB and has been at the top of his game this season when fit. Shame he's an utter cock.
Phumfeinz
I voted for Frank Lampard. I think Peter Crouch will have a good summer too.
