BOF Posted March 23, 2010 Moderator Share Posted March 23, 2010 I can't see past Spain. If they were allowed 2 teams they'd probably meet their 'B' team in the final.
Wainy316
Argentina for me. Best player in the world, red hot striker Heskey is English :winkold: Fixed
jonno_2004
The media circus that surrounds the England team that brings with it both pressure and the advocation of 'class' players like Wayne Bridge to be included in the squad means for me that we wont. Condimentalist
It's always tough to call, but the Spanish are certainly the strongest.
Phumfeinz
I went for Argentina. I think Messi can carry them the whole way.

Mantis
I think Brazil. Don't really fancy Spain and I think they'll flop.
DanishVillan
The serial killers of danish hope from Spain will win this. Should they somehow fail it will be Christian Eriksen.
Troglodyte Posted March 23, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted March 23, 2010 I think Spain. If they do flop, then Brazil. Argentina have an outside chance. Can't see England, Italy or Germany winning it.
Hanky
Hmm Spain is the obvious choice but I'm not so sure despite them being one of the best teams along with Brazil. I reckon it will be one of the more organised teams again that don't have THAT many names. So Italy to retain or Germany.

Milfner
I have a feeling that Argentina will do really well, SFs at least. I went for Spain though.
Qwpzxjor1
I went with Spain, but Spain are always the big under achievers so it's a tough one. On paper I think they are strongest. Torres and Villa are probably the hottest strikers in Europe right now along with Messi, and with Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas.. they have a fantastic midfield too. Their defense is still a little suspect but Casillas is also class. Just depends if Spain will do their usual thing, or whether it'll be a freak tournament for them where they actual reach their potential, like the last European Championships. BOF Posted March 23, 2010 Moderator Share Posted March 23, 2010 Spain were under-achievers until they won the Euros. They now know they can win and they have a team crammed full of club winners.
BrownsVillan
A team from Europe has never won the tourney outside of Europe. Worth remembering.

Exactly, the idea that Spain are bottlers no longer holds water. This group of spanish players knows nothing but winning tournaments. They will remember 2008 rather than the failed tournaments of the players who went before them.

BOF Posted March 23, 2010 Moderator Share Posted March 23, 2010 A team from Europe has never won the tourney outside of Europe. Worth remembering. While this is true, I feel it is largely irrelevant given that we're in the relative unknown of Africa.
