LakotaDakota
Hard night for yarde so far but he's younger & hits hard so who knows I guess. Needs a ko or multiple knockdowns now though
LakotaDakota
Well round 8 changes things a bit. Kovalev there for the taking now

LakotaDakota
Good effort from yarde but just not quite good enough & beaten by the better man. Looks like he used up too much energy in the 8th trying to finish it and had nothing left after that
Dr_Pangloss
Yarde is terrible, pretty much put to sleep with a jab as his conditioning is awful, too muscle bound. Good power and explosive but no boxing IQ and has a hell of a lot to do and address is stamina/ physique problem. Kov overall completely outboxed him, Yarde won two rounds and obviously nearly got Kov, who is pretty old and fragile out of there, but just didn't have enough. Yarde is a very poor man's Jean Pascal. Edited August 24, 2019 by Dr_Pangloss
Johnnyp
On a personal level i have zero issue with Yarde. Seems like a decent kid. His trainer is an absolute knob who is heavily invested in his own ego and social media presence. Was well beaten but great effort in the 8th. Was 2 or 3 punches away from stopping Kovalev. Yarde needs LOTS of sparring, major camp adjustments. Can come again. He can punch, always helps.
sheepyvillian
That was one helluva beating our guy took. Terrific 8th round, almost had Kovalev out on his feet, but almost is never enough. A loss can be the best thing to happen for some fighters. It will be interesting to see where this brave young man goes from here.
Johnnyp
Yarde : What should i do about his jab ? Tunde : Lions in the camp. That's the level of sillyness that will stop Yarde's career going anywhere. Needs a change. Fast.

His power alone could make him hang around at a level that sees him fighting for the European title. Some good but flawed fighters operating at that level. I don't think he'll ever lock horns with Buatsi because of promotional differences and for Yarde's sake it's probably a good thing. Hearn is moving Buatsi nicely. Surely if he wins next saturday, Hearn has to get him Pascal for the WBC. Timing is everything. Buatsi wins that fight.
Johnnyp
Do sky realise the more they keep saying luke campbell has dreamt of beating the world's pound for pound best since he laced them up, doesn't make it any more believable and it's absolute horseshit. This fight is a joke. That big wide stance and lanky loose arms are going to be cannon fodder for Lomachenko.
Dr_Pangloss
Campbell has some nice skills but no where near Loma's class, either a very wide UD or stoppage for Loma.

He won't get blitzed like Crolla did id say. Campbell is better than him. He'll be well beaten though.
LakotaDakota
Hughie Fury just doesn't have the power to deter Povetkin, Same as Tyson really, Decent enough technical boxer but for such big guys they are a pair of slappers
