JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Uzyk being the superior fighter isn't in question, but he is defo lucky with the ref decision earlier. Dubois should be Champion. Edited August 26, 2023 by JAMAICAN-VILLAN
gwi1890
Usyk is unreal to be honest. Outclass Dubois but question mark over the low blow.
OutByEaster? Posted August 26, 2023 Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2023 All over, a good effort by Dubois and he can perhaps claim he should have won it. I think we stop talking about Usyk as some sort of super fighter though - Fury and Wilder would both beat him.
foreveryoung
I don't think the ref wanted Dubois anywhere near the win, even though I admit Usyk is the better fighter.

avfc1982am
No need for a rematch. Easier than AJ, although Dubois looked livelier. Just too timid Dubois is to win a title.
dubbs
Robbed by a pathetic decision from the ref to call that a low blow.

Genie
No way Usyk was getting up if the ref started counting, he legs weren’t working.

After taking a two and a half minute break for a perfectly legal blow on his midriff. Fighters hate to be questioned in that way and there are big questions on whether he'd have gotten up from that - there are lots and lots of people that think Dubois should have been Champion right there. Usyk will want to silence those voices.
sheepyvillian
The fact Usyk played the ref and should technically have been counted out, the truth is Dubois is like a modern day Frank Bruno. He's not an instinctual fighter and far too ponderous to trouble a top Heavyweight. Saying that, if boxing had VAR, Dubois would be champion.

True, but no doubt Usyk woukd have had him in the rematch.

Most likely, yes - he's the better of the two fighters - but he might take the opportunity to "right the wrong" rather than take a fight he knows he can't win against one of the bigger men. Genie
They said Dubois only had a punchers chance, and he landed a KO punch. He’ll be gutted, not just the belts but I guess a KO here would be worth tens of millions of pounds in future revenue.
