Brumerican
We beat their big brother a month ago away with 3-1 for god's sake. Get to ****! Everton established 1878 Liverpool established 1892 Generally it's common knowledge that a big brother is older, flawed argument... Jog On! Ok then. We beat their VASTLY superior little brother's then
TrentVilla Posted October 31, 2009 Moderator Share Posted October 31, 2009 It seems you can never have too many full backs. Just odd.
OutByEaster? Posted October 31, 2009 Moderator Share Posted October 31, 2009 Howard, Baines, Yobo, Heitinga, Distin, Cahill, Yakubu, Neill, Fellaini, Rodwell, Bilyaletdinov. Subs: Nash, Saha, Jo, Gosling, Coleman, Duffy, Agard. Not by any means a weak side.

It wasn't that long ago when Barry and Mellberg were our fullbacks (Albeit temporarily) but still, how times change.

OutByEaster? Posted October 31, 2009 Moderator Share Posted October 31, 2009 Distin generally does okay with Gabby, he's a good athlete. So it might be about Heskey overpowering Heitinga, I think that's possible. Sidwell and Petrov are going to have to work very hard against Fellaini and Cahill. How will Everton line up there? Is it a five man back line? ------------------Howard------------------ Neill----Yobo-----Distin--Heitinga--Baines
rjw63
We could at least have Albrighton on the bench, the kid looks quality every time I've seen him

Personally I'd sooner see Gardner or Albrighton there than a third right back.

Vojskovoda
Umm OK... we have L.Young - easily our best RB and we're not playing him, why? As for Heskey starting in a 4-4-2... no comment.
TrentVilla Posted October 31, 2009 Moderator Share Posted October 31, 2009 Heskey deserves to start over Carew based on the Wolves game.

Mark8691
Guzan has no chance of starting for premier league games in my opinion. Friedal is setting a record everytime he starts and i dont think MON wants to upset him. It would take very bad form from Friedal for MON to move him aside. Vojskovoda
Or we could just play a 4-5-1... we know how well it works away from home so I don't understand why we're not using it. I won't judge Heskey right now - I will judge him after today's game and will them decide if he's still useless or has the potential to be a decent player for us. I'm so frustrated about MON not playing L.Young... he's fit, he's our best RB - how can he not be playing?

He is doing an ok job but I do think Milner is having to cover him a lot at a cost to his own game. I agree Young needs to wait and win his place from Ceullar but I do think when he does we will be a better side.
tommo
It's laughable that we've actually discussed potential tactics on this board. Same old, same old. If Dunne and Collins aren't 100% today I think we will get found out.
Guest Ricardomeister
Heskey to score today (hopefully for Villa! :winkold: ).
sonic_bouma
and thats supposed to be an everton line up thats riddled with injuries? doesnt look like it to me... its on a par with our starting eleven...difficult to call this one...id be happy with a draw gutted sidwell is back in...i know NRC didnt have the best game against Sunderland but he offers more than sidwell... annoyed at heskey starting although carew has been poo recently but at least he gets in the box...unlike gabby and heskey who almost play as wingers!
