There are literally too many to list.

My favourite movie of all time is 12 Angry Men and that was 1957.

I know you are a horror fan so just off the top of my head pre 70s you'd have...

Night of the Living Dead

Psycho

Rosemary's Baby

Nosferatu

The Haunting

The Innocents

Children of the Damned

Peeping Tom

Twisted Nerve

Devil Rides Out

Masque of the Red Death

Most of the Amicus/Hammer studio movies

Diabolical

Cape Fear

Night of the Hunter

Night of the Demon

That's just a few and one specific genre. There are an absolute shitload.

When it comes to movies, in my opinion you shouldn't restrict yourself to genre, time period or country of origin. To do so would mean you will miss out on so so much.

This. Even silents. Most people think "Oh, Charlie Chaplin", but there were some astonishing 'serious' silents - F. W. Murnau's 'Nosferatu', Fritz Lang's 'Metropolis', Abel Gance's 'Napoleon', etc. They take a bit of effort at first, but some of the cinematography is still jaw-dropping.

Yeah I added Nosferatu for that very reason. Still a stunning piece of work all these years later.

Sounds interesting but what about Fast & Furious 10 and Transformers 6! 😃

Yeah 12 Angry Men is possibly the best film ever made, usually floating around on Amazon Prime but I secured myself a Blu-Ray of it instead.

Amazing how well some of the 30s and 40s films hold up today considering.

The films from before the 70s have some really kick ass films that really hold up today. I think I mist have watched 5 films in the last 3 months that were made before 1970

Listing old great films are we? Ok

La Grande Illusion (1937) is wonderful. The Bicycle Thieves, Les Diaboliques, Le Corbeau, Army of Shadows, Dr. Strangelove etc.

All great. Tip of an enormous iceberg.

I’m going to watch some Laurel & Hardy movies in a cinema.

But I’ve flat refused to wear a fez, or sit next to anyone that wears a fez, or be photographed with anyone fluttering their tie.
