The main question is how the loan between clubs will apply to youth players. Because I assume one of the main benefits of the Las Vegas Villans is being able to send our best youth players there for game time in a professional league that speaks English. If we can omyl send 3 at a time it may reduce the impact of that for us.

It should be OK if the under 21 exemption is true.

I think you'd just see a lot more Livramento/Luiz type buyback deals. Also there's always the possibility of the MLS club buying them first and developing to a level that it's worthwhile us signing them (for a favourable price).

The other picture is also Aaron from when we won the Floodlit Cup in 2018, you can tell this, because he's wearing the Under Armour kit, and also because he's holding the actual trophy and has a winners medal. It's not Cole holding the trophy because we haven't won the thing this season, the competition is still in progress. He may not even be playing in the Floodlit Cup, he only turned fourteen a month or so back, so it might be that he's been playing in the Albert Phelan Cup, which is the U14 equivalent of the Floodlit Cup.

Shakepoke subbed off after thirty minutes, which doesn't sound promising, unless that was the intention to begin with. Losing 1-0.

He seems quite upbeat, judging by his instagam post after the game, so presumably him coming off after thirty minutes wasn't because of any sort of serious injury, and might have been planned beforehand.

Mikell Barnes has put on his instagram that his season has been cut short by injury. That's a big shame, I had been wondering if he might be one of the first year scholars with a chance of breaking into the U23s in the second half of the season with all the players we've got going out on loan.

Travis Patterson made his comeback from injury yesterday, not sure who against, but played 45 minutes, won 3-1, and he scored one of the goals, wore the No.10 shirt. I think Charlie Lutz scored the other two, he put on his instagram that he scored a couple, presumably the same game.

Aston Villa take Needham Market youngster Taylor Clark on trial

Needham Market youngster Taylor Clark has earned himself a shot with a Premier League club.

The 17-year-old, who joined the Marketmen's academy at the start of the academic year, is preparing to go on trial with Aston Villa.

It comes after a campaign in which Clark has broken in Kevin Horlock's first-team squad, with the midfielder part of the starting line-up that pulled off a Buildbase FA Trophy giant killing at National League side Yeovil Town earlier this month.

Clark's stint with Villa will include a number of training sessions and two under-18 matches.

Robert Peace, Needham's academy and operations director, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Taylor, we all wish him well and hope he shows his true pedigree during the trial period. This is fantastic recognition of Taylor’s achievements to date and further evidence of the environment we provide our students to help reach their potential.”

Meanwhile, Horlock, who is also the academy manager at Bloomfields, added: “Taylor is an unbelievably talented lad for someone so young which was evident the moment he walked into Needham Market Academy.

"His talent combined with his work ethic and willingness to listen and improve has seen him develop and progress from our U18s and reserve team onto playing a number of games in our first team in a short space of time.

“I’m delighted for him as this is recognition for how well he has done and it also shows current and future students once again that there is a clear pathway through our academy and into our first team which then could lead to opportunities for students to follow their dream of being professional footballers.”

That's class from the kid tbf - at 17 and at Needham Market you'd think he'd be struggling to kick on in order to have a meaningful career.

Demico Burton, it seems is an attack minded left-back, played against us for Stourbridge when they knocked us out of the Birmingham Senior Cup. This is him winning the penalty for their first goal...

Just looking on a Derby forum and apparently was training with their first team back in October, and was on the bench for their game against Bourneouth in November whilst still an U16 player, apparently a lot of the top teams have been watching him, and been compared to Kaide Gordon who they lost to Liverpool. £500k fee for a sixteen year old would would suggest he's highly rated.

We really are monsters at the U18 level now.

Love the fact that we're picking up players, and on balance - £0.5m to Derby feels OK.
Hopefully this guy goes on and becomes awesome for us, but it doesn't feel like we're picking over the carcass of a struggling club completely with the deal. I really do feel sorry for their supporters.
