These drones have been flying around the black sea since the war started, not sure why the Russians are getting involved now. What I heard anyway, was the US don't want to make much of it, as they wouldn't want to start getting directly involved with the Ruskies.

Russia has been doing much the same all the time. It’s just that this time it seems they damaged the UAV rather than disrupted its flight path

Also, didn't think a Su57 could dump fuel unless it dropped one of it's external tanks. Certainly looks a bit of a tool that fighter.

Kremlin claims there are no conditions for peace, only war is possible

Quote from Peskov: "There are no preconditions for a peaceful transition of the process. For us the absolute priority continues to be and will always remain the achievement of our goals. At the moment they can only be achieved by military means".

There was a similar tale (not that I've clicked the tweets or looked at the Daily Heil website) in the Washington Post yesterday, or the day before - all the quotes with names and pics of the soldier involved.

It's actually the second prototype of the SU-57

Both wrong. SU-27 was the aircraft type the US says was involved. I have no knowledge as to whether they can dump fuel, but assume they can.

Interesting news coming out of Turkey.

The Turkish Defense Minister is stating that they will allow USA ships into the Black Sea in order to protect NATO surveillance drones from attack.

That's a massive headache for Russia.

How do they protect Drones from attack short of shooting down the attacking aircraft?

It’s a great way to get American surveillance ships and other tech into situation. Russia is well and truly ducked. The US did the same outside Split in Croatia when Milosevic was threatening there too. It’s a hell of a deterrent if you put some big ships outside Ukraine.

I think you have answered your own question.

Turkey controls the Black Sea.  They have prevented any new warships entering the Black Sea. This sends a clear message to Russia that escalation will not be ignored.

But they're never going to shoot down Russian aircraft. They're just not.
