trekka Posted July 11, 2007 VT Supporter Share Posted July 11, 2007 If I'm honest, I do use V+ a lot (same as Sky+) and the only time I've used my DVD-RW/HDD combo was when I was away in the States during the World Cup and for some reason I decided I wanted every match recorded. My poor Mother then had to record every single match onto DVD-R, rushing home to be home in time for the matches etc. I've never watched them and she had a great Summer
mykeyb
Nope, Record straight from my Dreambox to a PC - piece of cake.
villanmike
We do have a VHS but rarely use it.
mjmooney Posted July 11, 2007 VT Supporter Share Posted July 11, 2007 Got a VHS + DVD combo machine. Hardly ever record anything. I watch the odd rented DVD and some BBC4 on Freeview, but otherwise I'd be happy to ditch the TV altogether, and just go to the pub for football on Sky. The missus wouldn't like it though. dont_do_it_doug.
I've got one still jooked up to my telly. Cost me a pretty penny 7 years ago. £240 infact which was a fair bit for a VCR back then. I've absolutely no idea if it still works.
saturdaygig
One twin tuner TV recorder, one dvd recorder, a freeview box, a dvd player and yes, one vhs that never gets used.
paddy
How does this represent an advantage over sky+ It doesn't really, but as I don't have sky its a good alternative.
Jon
How does this represent an advantage over sky+ It doesn't really, but as I don't have sky its a good alternative. exactly what i was about to post. my subscription to freeview costs .... a subscription to Sky+ costs...... so if you don't have SKY+ (and a lot of people don't) then it's a good thing, IMO. I don't recall ever bringing Sky+ into it or comparing the two!

Stevo985 Posted September 17, 2009 VT Supporter Share Posted September 17, 2009 I still have one. Can't remember the last time I used it though. SInce getting sky + it has become very much redundant.
villaajax
I have one in the loft, I was actually still using it up until about a year ago when it started to chew my tapes. These were old wrestling videos that are hard to replace so I gave up
Barry_Static
We have two but can't remember the last time they were used. Still have all the old tapes in the attic not sure why the players didn't join them though.
