Found this list, wondering if there is an updated version? According to this our wages are quite a bit higher than clubs we apparently can't compete with (on wages).

----

Financial figures for 2012-13, for the 20 clubs in the Premier League during 2012-13. All details from the published annual reports at Companies House. Net debt is as stated in the accounts; debts minus cash held at the bank. The separate categories of turnover are rounded down or up, so added together do not always tally with the total turnover figure.

That's quite interesting to read although as you said, its not current and shows up to May 2013.

In terms of not competing, isn't that down to the person who controls the purse strings? So for example, according to that we have the 8th highest wage bill, Obviously there is a massive hangover still from the previous regimes and that more than likely distorts our current wage structure and as such big wages will not be added to it.

It will be interesting to see what it looks like when the likes of Bent and Given are gone and whether or not those wages will be reinvested sensibly and to what percentage.

I would really like to see this years tbh. The fact is, those who say we cannot compete with Everton aren't actually correct.

Even taking away 10-12m for those two, we are matching Everton - without the addition of Senderos and others. And we now have a new set of players who are unwanted taking up wages too (Bennett, Luna, Tonev, Lowton).

I really would like to see this years figures though.

Just looking through that list is really eye opening. For instance Fulham have a higher wage bill than Everton. Shows how well run Everton really have been compared to most other clubs.

Agree Everton are very well run. If they didn't need a new stadium they would be ripe for a takeover.

Everton are much the same as us, you can look at them and think they are well run but the reality is they are in debt to the tune of £48million and use potential earnings as security on loans they take out now.

They wont get taken over any time soon because they have the same issues that we have, it would take hundreds of millions of investment with no guarantee of a return.

Thank God Pulis is off to West Brom.

Why? He'll probably keep them up.

I guess I should have said thank god he is now in a job so he is no longer a viable option to take over here if Lambert goes. Bare in mind he is already been rumoured to be signing Crouch and Whelan.

I wonder what odds I can get on Lambert saying " we've adopted a new style and the players are really taking to it" after having drawn or lost against Palace.

Stop banging on about our " new style" Paul as if it's some sort of master stroke that managers haven't already been using for the past 5 years and just win us a god damn football match.

I expect a win today. Nothing less.

Palace in turmoil and on a mega shit run.

All of this stuff about poor goal scoring record etc. Any one would think we are bottom of the league.

Starting to play better but still a way to go. The next step is to get better movement from the front 3. Has to be said that that is diabolical at the moment particularly Gabby who looks like he only moves to shift from one leg to the other.

Slowly starting to see some positives in the last few games. Hampered by some poor decision making from players resulting in playing most of last month with 10 men.

Perhaps the change has come about because Lambert feels more confident about the team defensively now.

Let's hope we see some better forward play in this second half of the season and 11v11 please.
