I wouldn't worry about it lol.

When you've finished the story you won't be rushing back mate.

Fair enough, but am i likely to get raped in the mean time? I am hardly rushing through this game, maybe play it twice a week for a couple of hours.

Anyone still bothering with this game? Since i last posted I have built up 2 FOBs and are striving to get all my staff to S Rank. I've been raided about 4 or 5 times but now my security team is level 7 the raids have dropped off with the last person who tried being defeated.

I had used the Pink Butterfly Emblem trick to

Spoiler

stop Quiet leaving

and only just removed it last night, my God that scene with her escaping is amazing!

I'm playing online most nights too, if anyone wants to add me on PS4 i am ColdFire_Chewie

Got this for the Xbox at Christmas, just completed the first mission and it feels like something I need to devote a lot of time to?

How many hours have people out in to complete this?

You can easily get up into 70 odd hours or more.

However it's design is more or less set up to be played in smaller chunks, the missions you have can take anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour depending on how you approach them, so whilst it's a big game, you can break it down into bite sized pieces.

If by "the first mission" you are referring to the hospital level then I can't emphasise strongly enough how different that is to the rest of MGSV. It might as well be an entirely different game in terms of mechanics.

Cheers lads.

Rev, by first mission, I mean the one where you have to extract the dude and get past the ghost soldier things.

I thought I'd tagged all the enemies, went in all stealthy like and found there were loads more!

Ive not played one of these since ps1 and I have a feeling I'm gonna suck at it!

I'm at 201 hours now, and I am 80% complete. That might sound a little crazy, but i've been building up my FOB (you'll see) and I currently have 2100 S Rank and above soldiers, none of that part has in impact on the % complete though. I haven't even finished the final final mission as i want to top everything out before i finally mop everything up and get 100%.

It's a great game, frustrating, but a great game which i am sure you will enjoy.

I found that it starts off really cool and rewarding to stealth around the place, spot everyone, do it the old fashioned way, took loads of time, enjoyed it, then found it a chore, then went in guns blazing, did a couple of missions, got better guns etc...it really gets going when you unlock the custom guns IMO, as soon as you can put a silencer on them and make a tranquiliser sniper rifle it'll change the way you play, then when the "difficulty" really kicks in (I don't want to spoil how the difficulty in the game works but it's absolute magic) you'll be hooked

Started this a few days ago, it's great. I spent hours trying for perfect stealth through all the missions and missing out because of that one soldier who managed to evade my scouting from 2-3 different angles.

Riding about on the horse doing side ops when I blundered into the middle of a guard post, reflex mode kicks in so I go with it and drop all 4 of them with my sniper (forgot to switch back to my tranq pistol earlier) from horseback.

I've done maybe 4 main missions and closer to a dozen side-ops, what should I be focusing on if I want to get my base up and running asap? and what order should I build my platforms?

any other tips to get the goodstuff earlier?

If you want to make the game easier for yourself, then look at the development tree for one of the Tranq Sniper Rifles, then build the Motherbase platforms needed to get extra staff to raise their level up enough to get going.

Second to that, you want a STUN assault rifle, as almost all the way through the game you want to be stunning and fultoning enemies to build your mother base. Also, make sure you are always picking up resources and...

Spoiler

fultoning out containers when you get the ability to do so.

When you get there, the weapon customisation can be a little confusing at first too, it is worth building a higher level gun with a suppressor attachment as you will ultimately be able to fit that to other similar guns which don't come with suppressors.

It's a game changer that you can very easily miss as it's buried in optional side missions so I'll spell it out now as it makes the game much more fun, recruit the Legendary Gunsmith as early as you can. He unlocks a weapon customisation mini game which is great.  (click)

On top of this, it's actually a pretty good idea to try and complete each Side Op as soon as they become available for similar reasons (goodies) as that specific one. I know you know that Rev, just pointing it out to V01 :)

I've already been focusing on the side-ops, nice to know it was good idea. I've been scouring the development tree too, not having a medical team is stopping me getting a tranq sniper, at the minute I'm just focused on the tranq pistol, idroid, scope, fulton and cargo.

I have about 150 staff to run 3 platforms so I've eased off kidnapping staff now unless they are B rated in something. Is the Base Development Platform worth building first? it says it gives you regular materials in the description, that would be helpful right now.

Is there any point to keeping the vehicles I'm getting as challenge rewards, I see I can have them dropped in with me but there's so many about I can just steal one when necessary.

How often should I be going back to mother base? Am I really staff morale by by running around bodyslamming people?

^ The best way to think about building platforms is that all it does is give you the ability to have more staff, more staff = higher levels for that unit, which in turn opens higher development trees. I don't recall a lack of resources ever being a problem for me until the end game as you can find a lot in the field, and since you are actually playing, any unprocessed resource will become processed relatively quickly.

You want to make sure that your command platform is built up first, as that gives you the capacity for extra staff members on all platforms as it is upgraded. Just upgrading the Base Dev platform will only increase the max staff number for that unit. If you stop fultoning staff then you are going to end up building platforms and not having enough staff, you can't really go wrong with just fultoning everything as better staff you fulton will replace lower ranks automatically.

Vehicles can be sold for GMP if you need, you probably almost never need to drop in with one but they can be handy. When you open up the online portion of the game any vehicles you collect will add to your PF grade (think fantasy football), but honestly, if you need the GMP, sell them.

You can pretty much just return to mother base when forced to by the game without any adverse effects. But make sure you go back when it is raining, when you are stinky, and when it is your real life birthday for some cool cut scenes.

Hope that helps.

Built command and base development platforms, my lack of resources was not realising I had a stockpile of everything waiting to be processed.

Enjoying the game a lot more now, I've started aiming for stealth on the missions and just going full psycho mode if I'm discovered. Extracted the bionics guy before I came to work, cleared out the lower base no problem then realised I had to get in up the hill. cleared all of the huts of resources without seeing anyone, as soon as I entered the building I got swarmed. One murderous rampage later and I've captured the base helicopter extraction from right outside the guys holding cell.

I so need a suppressed sniper. And a transport specialist.

What's the deal with skills? keep extracting specialists but I don't see any effect from them?

Certain skills are required to develop items, most of the skills required to develop a specific item come from various members of the R&D unit that you will rescue. Skills on people in the combat unit are applied to when you play as that person (as you can can choose to play as say, Bastard Crab, as opposed to Snake later in the game). if Bastard Crab has Gunman skill, then it means that his reflex mode will last way longer than standard. Athlete skill means faster running speed, tough guy skill can take more shots, and so on.

Unlocked combat deployments and my GMP problems are sorted, although I'm struggling to process resources fast enough. The Command Platform is rank 4 and everything else is rank 2. Is there any point in doing the online deployment missions? they take ages and the losses are huge, do they ever get quicker?

Pushed on and did a few missions then switched to clearing out the side ops. **** me that one's miles away why can't I helicopter in closer? oh well might as well go there anyway "Boss get down" what? owww. Threw me into the Quiet mission as I was hiking it to somewhere else, I must have crawled for about 2 miles trying to find her and stay in cover long enough to get a shot off. Ignored Miller and spared her then had Ocelot keep telling me to visit her, walk into the brig check out the sideboob but nothing was happening so I went out some more missions.

Got D-Dog now, he's his own bollocks. Running through outposts avoiding everyone without having to waste time pulling out my scope, Extracted Huey quite easily even if it did take a little time. Damn Miller hates him, I'm not a fan either to be honest speccy clearing in the woods only seems to care about his research.

Popped to Angola or wherever and blew up an oil base, piece of cake with D-Dog. no alerts until I blew the C4, I was already halfway out the hot zone by then. Finally got a side op to visit Quiet, any excuse for a shower scene, Ocelot being there made it weird though. Took her to help me extract the Legendary Gunsmith, and again, then yet again. Will I be able to put a silencer on here rifle? or does weapon customisation only work on my gear?
