  1. I’m really going to have to try and play nice online. I’ve gotten a lot better the last week or so, not bumping into the ai so much but so far I haven’t played any modes that punish you for it.
  2. It looks like you and Marcus let them overtake you early on. That a tactic of yours? Didn’t want to get taken out on the first corner or something like that?
  3. Can’t wait to try the online stuff once I’ve gotten more used to the game. I’m just going through the Campaign at the moment but I think I’ll give online a try soon, especially now I’ve watched the compulsory training videos to ensure I’ll be a good boy.
  4. Yeah mine does too, like a fine stripy grey effect? I assume it’s intentional. Makes the ugly-ass logo more conspicuous too so it’s a plus in my book. Also, I wore the shirt to football on Tuesday and scored a hat trick so, it works. Not so much for the first team apparently, but for civilians, absolutely.
  5. It’s my controller. I remapped my controls to have accelerate on the R1 and it worked just fine. No problem on any other games but I guess they’re not as sensitive as GT or other racing games. Mystery solved.
  6. Just messed around the traction settings, no difference. I tried uploading but the **** service is temporarily unavailable or some crap like that. I can’t find much online so I doubt it’s an issue with the game as a whole, just mine for whatever reason. I saw something about controller triggers not registering as fully held down properly but my car is maxing out on the revs, it’s just like I’m driving a super slow car. I’ve tried auto and manual but yeah, I can’t even hit 13 seconds and it’s literally weaving around two damn cones. Same issue on the first challenge and that’s literally driving in a straight line. On the official videos, the guy is getting into third before hitting the finish line but I don’t even get out of second before I cross. I’ll keep trying to upload a video, I must be doing something really dumb without knowing.
  7. Still waiting on my third kit shirt. Preordered it with hours of it being shown. I’m playing football tonight and was hoping it would arrive by now. Not even an email saying it’s dispatched. The lack of communication is pretty crap. I was thinking it may not have been released yet but since @hogso has his I guess mine is just down the list somewhere or they forgot about it ? UPDATE: It was delivered to work on friday, receptionist just hasn’t checked the boxes until just now when I asked her about it. It looks lovely and all is forgiven ?
  8. Pretty sure though I am still getting to grips with the game and the sheer amount of customisation is daunting. Traction is set in the middle which was default for me I think. I’ll have a look at the TCS when I next play. All I know is that compared the the videos I pull away like a steamroller on treacle.
  9. RIght, what’s the deal with Driving School? I’ve only done the first one and it took ages to get Gold. As for 2? I can’t even get Bronze! It’s literally just driving a car between two gates yet my car is so slow from launch. I’ve watched the video for it and he just seems to floor it all the way through the countdown, but when I do it I start so slow. He did the same on the first video but I had to accelerate as soon as I was allowed to go to get any time above Bronze. I’ve looked online and everywhere says to turn off assists though I don’t see people having as hrs a time as I am. I literally have on ASM, and ABS and Countersteering Assistance on Weak. I must be missing something obvious. I’m not a novice to these things. I’m winning every single race against AI on Easy. I’m not great at the moment, but I’m not this bad.
  10. If it’s offline too then it’s probably your game, right? Think Stevo’s right, redownload it and see if it fixes it.

    Spiderman

I’m not sure it’s going to compare to the Arkham games, especially in terms of combat (Arkham’s is still unmatched in any games I’ve played, at least) and atmosphere, but if I can swing around a beautifully-realised New York City to my heart’s content then I’ll be happy with it. I spent far too much time on Spider-Man 2 web-slinging around and diving off the Empire State Building. I don’t even really care if the combat or story is a bit weak, though obviously if they aren’t then I’ll be even more pleased.
  12. I got this in the sale a couple of weeks ago and played it but it was pretty daunting and I didn’t really know where to start. I did a couple of races against AI but couldn’t seem to catch up on them, maybe I need to switch to manual. Any tips on how to get into the game and racing in general? Admittedly I’m more an arcade racing game kinda guy and I’m used to Forza and having the racing line on the track, though I understand the basics of them. It’d be nice to race against you guys and play with some of you again.
  13. I don’t think he’ll be here long next season unless we start well or our new owners really are hamstrung with FFP.
  14. But as you just pointed out re: Bale, footballers don’t always follow their agent’s advice. FWIW I don’t think Jack will stay here but not because of wages though I’m sure he’s tempted by earning more. It’ll be due to FFP from the club’s perspective and the chance to play in the Premier League and get into the England squad from Jack’s. I think he’ll still be very sad to leave us and may even consider it abandoning us at our lowest point. It could be that his sale is what contributes to saving the club, so perhaps that’s how some people are selling it to him. Unless the new investors/owners or whatever they are have some amazing ideas and workarounds regarding FFP then Jack leaving this summer is inevitable but I think it would discredit him to suggest it’s all about his wealth.
  15. I was going to save completing the story it until I'd done Niflheim and Muspelheim and killed all the valkyries... but I couldn't resist. Took down the first two valkyries easily enough (I kinda cheated and looked online so I could do them in order of easiest to hardest) but then the third one was quite the jump in difficulty. Those unblockable attacks destroy me. I've gotten to the valkyrie in Muspelheim so presumably I'll complete that when I can kill her. As for Niflheim, it's the most frustrating area in the game for me by quite a ways. I'm not sure I'll stick with it long enough to grind enough to kill all the valkyries. My interest is starting to wane and I just got Shadow of War on sale on the PSN store. Loved my time with this game though. I'm an absolute sucker for Norse mythology.
  16. Perhaps, but if anyone in this league had the resources to attain that luxury it was us, but we didn’t, and appointing Bruce was a huge factor in that. You look at the teams that not only go up but stay up. They tend to play good football or at least have a very strong team spirit that enables them to perform to a level beyond the skills of their individual players. There’s still a pretty wide gulf in class between the Championship and the Premier League. I don’t think it’s baffling for fans to be disillusioned by Bruce’s poor tactics - or lack thereof - and it’s only natural to feel that we need better than that if we want to go up and stay there. Do we want to be a yo-yo club for the next few years? Granted it’s better than not going up at all this season but still. As for the highest points total rubbish (I know it wasn’t you who said it, Craig), you can’t compare a Championship season with the Premier League for various reasons. Not least of which the difference in quality.
  17. Assumed they were training tops.
  18. Been a while since I’ve posted here and I’ve seen a few films lately: Phantom Thread - Admittedly not my sort of film and aside from There Will Be Blood I think P.T. Anderson films are a bit crap and disappear entirely up their own arses. This film was no different though not entirely unenjoyable. It did outstay it’s welcome though and I thought it was going to end at one point before it carried on for another twenty minutes or so. Pretty silly story, DDL was pretty good and it did make me think a little afterwards, but not for me. The Shape Of Water - I’m a GDT fan and I did enjoy this, though I felt on a couple of occasions it lost its way a bit. I felt the ‘escape’ happened too early in the story which messed with the pacing of the film up and made it feel like it went on too long. I also felt the relationship blossomed pretty damn rapidly and unrealistically. I know realism isn’t exactly top of the agenda here, but the relationship is meant to be grounded in some form of reality to make it somewhat relatable, but it was almost love at first sight with a sea monster. Looked and sounded great and I enjoyed it, but nowhere near as good as Pan’s Labyrinth. Black Panther - A decent Marvel film but no more. I’m a comic book fan and enjoy the movies for the most part but even I’m getting bored of them now. I don’t really get the hype to be honest and the cynic in me is starting to think the black angle is what’s bumping the review scores up a bit. It’s not bad, and the setting and urban culture vibe definitely provide something different from other recent Marvel films, but it’s still nothing special. Not to mention the first big action scene is at night and you can barely see it and it’s WAY too CGI heavy; the rhinos being particularly rubbish and considering the hero and villain trade physical blows, why make it a CGI fight? It cheapened the film, somewhat ironically considering I bet it cost a fair whack to produce.
  19. That’s last season’s gear with the old sponsor, which I assume is why they’re all rather awkwardly trying to cover it up with their arms
  20. Anjanath down He was a bit of an arse, went to a few claustrophobic places which made avoiding his attacks harder but his moveset wasn’t too tricky or varied.
  21. I’m enjoying this but haven’t put much time in, about 7 hours total and I’m at the point where they want me to take out the Anjanath, which I’m more than happy to do since the arsehole has made a number of other quests more difficult due to him showing up at the worst times. I can see me hitting a wall and giving up for a bit though. I don’t really have hours of free time to blow on getting this involved in a game anymore and as much as I enjoy it on the whole, it can be a bit dull repeatedly smacking monsters in their weak points. Think I need to embrace other tactics like environmental stuff, traps etc. So far I’ve tried out the sword and shield, buster sword and the long sword. I tend not to guard (weird considering I’m a very defensive Dark Souls player ordinarily), so the sword and shield was a waste, and the buster sword was too slow for me so the long sword has been my best weapon so far. I plan on mixing it up a lot for the forseeable and giving most of the weapons a chance. Anyone fancies going on some hunts (maybe in the near future as I’m only HR4 at the mo) then my PSN is Veldritch, feel free to add.
  22. Well considering how many kids he has with different women I’d say the club definitely failed Gabby there.
  23. I think the fact he said ‘That is all.’ means he either doesn’t but have further information or he’s not willing to share it.
  24. Pretty sure it stands for 'Ass To', Tone.
  25. Stick with it and it becomes second nature. You'll be hearing 'Edge!' everywhere you go in your day-to-day life in no time.
