  1. I have to say, I bought an overclocked i5 system this time last year, including a GTX 670 card. And a year on, its still practicably a top end system with no issues running the games I play at pretty much max settings. I don't regret having found the extra couple of hundred then, as I think it has probably added to the usable life of the system. I've been through the frankenstein process before upgrading an old pc with ram, graphics cards, hard drives, and you still get to a point in about 6 years where you cannot play games due to the processor, rather than the other bits.
  2. I live sort of on the outskirts of Croydon. I worked in Croydon and had only left that borough for another 2 months before the riots. If it was about equality, the poor, they would't have smashed up some of the businesses in West Croydon that they did. It was lazy clearings in the woods robbing trainers and flat screens. Waterstones was untouched, Richersounds robbed. Primark, left alone, Footlocker, raped. The majority of looters were of school and near school age, with all the advantages of easy to get local college places, an education they chose often not to take advantage of. There was nothing heroic about that night, it was no "protest", it was feckless, lazy, out for a laugh thieves and scumbags, trying to hide behind the screen of "mass riot" anonymity. If they needed food and clothes, they could have taken them, but they left the bread and cereal in Lidl, and went straight for the alcohol and fags. There was no particular grief to bring about the riots, it was simply "copycat" of the Tottenham riots. Even I got warned that my bit of the country was next, in the "organised" for looting the next night by people on the periphery of it all. I would be surprised if Sweden was any different. Rascism and alienation are flags of political convienience for unjust enrichment. If they really cared they'd be out marching, voting and being active. Not just stealing shit - thats not very left wing to deny a hard working person their small business livelyhood, you know, the guy who pays his taxes and employs local people.
  3. http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/10378900.East_Sussex_UKIP_election_candidate_in_holocaust_storm/ How about a Holocaust Denier?
  4. Of course, the irony is that Boston is the home to a lot of 2nd 3rd generation Irish, and was a popular fundraising centre for the IRA. Much of the IRA funds for the their campaigns through the 70's and 80's were paid for by "proud patriots" in Boston bars. No idea where the ongoing splinter groups get their funds these days, but if any still came in from here, this will kill it stone dead.
  5. And on a serious note, perhaps this might be the generation that through unfulfilled expectation of society, marketing and cheap availability, porn addidction is on the rise too Rob. Pmsl. Seriously though, how many people even unconciously, have self esteem issues, comapring themselves to the physically perfect specimins found on line, and who through those issues find themselves unable to maintain or even create satisfactory real world relationships, and so spend their weekends fapping away? May be millions? I don't get gambling, money's too tight for me to spunk it on something fixed like the horses, and football is too random. But the rush must be there, the "will I, won't I?" Lets not forget one of our better players of recent times, Paul Merson, has seriously stuffed his life up through this. It's not disease, to me, in the conventional sense, but that you are firing off pleasure seeking receptors, in the absence of somehting else in your life. And the problem is, life isn't like the brocures, its decidedly shitty on occasion, and as such, who's to judge? But the very idea that taking heroin is a great career move, means your either an idiot or a musician?
  6. See, thats the genius, theres a big text box when you order, where you can add all that info. For example, my flat is flat 17. Thats because there's no flat 13, and so it's 16 really. Well, it never used to be til the last "spruce up" when they got a plate made for the front door buzzers that had no 17 and added a 13. But my post box is 17, (and my parking space is 16, go figure!) so its important to convey that flat 17 is where 16 shouldbe, but its not 16 because from 12 the numbers are messed, so he needs to go to buzzer 13, despite it being wired to 17, and park in space 16 when he arrives. Its easier to type than tell someone who's first language is urdu, punjabi or hindi ithis over a phone line. and the reviews of my chosen tonight had people swapping chapait's for rice on the set menu, and all sorts... Seriously, I can't remember when I was last so impressed by an "online" thing, and allt he menus are on line, and so you can make up an order from 2-3 places to see which is cheapest, aswell as who gets reviewed well. I don't think I'll ever ring one again...
  7. Cheers, it's just the process, from registering, ordering and paying seemed surprisingly slick, which isn't my general impression of ordering takeaways... Given I'm not "communicating" with the restaurant itself, it seemed to work really well. Mind you, it's got to arrive yet, so best not count my chickens....
  8. Just wondering if anyone here has ever used the food takeaway service Just-Eat to get food delivered before? I am feeling a little sceptical, I just did my first ever order by this method, as the search brought up a curry house I'd never used before, and my usual one didn't appear on their list. However, I've registered, and ordered, and apparently dinner in 35 mins. It seems a good idea, but somehow, deliveries from Indian Restaurants can be a bit hit and miss round here, I've had restaurants swear blind the door wasn't answered, despite me looking out the window onto the road at the time of deliver, and other times the definition of 45 mins seems frankly moveable. Also a bit concerned paying by card rather than at the door. I'd usually walk, but frankly it#s flipping freezing out there......' But really just wondering, does the system work well? does anyone else use it? Ever had any problems?
  9. Sack that useless jock. And transfer list every single f**king one of them.
  10. I'll be honest. I am a bit older than many on these boards. I try to see all sides of things. But listening to the commentary with half a bottle of a fairly decent red, I am of the opinion that Randy Lerner is a spoiled fu*khead who knows nothing other than the cost of things and the value of nothing. Listen son, you don't sell you best players, replace them with inferior ones, and then wonder why it's all going to hell in a handcart. Downing gone. Young gone. Milner gone. Barry gone. Was it only 3-4 years ago that half the England Squad was from VP?
  11. Lol now suggesting on the radio Delph spitting in the direction of the crowd as he's subbed. But now Bannan's on, we're properly f**ked. I have to admit, the lack of any sort of recovery of form, that we're jsut getting worse and worse, - Lambert's finally lost me.
  12. This really is the biggest team of thick c**ts I have EVER seen in a Villa shirt. Lihaj is a disgrace to the shirt and the very worst player I ever saw - and I've seen Bosco Balaban....
  13. To be honest, thats not the view we have in the bodily injury claims dept in Bromley. Where in DL Are you? Frankly, it's insane trying to defend these at the moment if it's straight forward. Unless there literally is no damage whatsoever, then a Birkenhead or Liverpool judge is going to allow the usual bulk issuing local solicitors to present the same old bent cut and paste medical reports and accept them. Its not economic to defend them, £20k post trial legal costs vs £5k pre lit settlement? The solicitors love it when we try and run these.... And usually the insured hasnt told the insurer about the trivial bump til its too late, so the third party gets his car fixed with authority from a bent engineer, (and I suspect garages/storage yards are often making damage worse to justify the reports and associated hire/storage charges). I've never known low speed whiplash claims to be SO prevelant as they are at the moment. The best angle Jim has here is to go at the "there were not 3 in the car" but his missus is going to have to be a damn good witness, or else insurers wont run it. If she didnt look in the car, and confirm that say kids can't have been lying on the floor after the accident, then its no use running to court.
  14. Jim, sent you a pm, with phone no if you need it -

Better off trying pepipoo.com and ask there.
  16. Which is why so many African women have it? Most African female prostitutes, in sub-saharan Africa will carry the virus. Indeed, in South Africa, females are more likely to have it than men, statistically. Its not rare at all. Check your facts before broadcasting a fact which appears you acknowledge yourself appears homophobic. There is a strain of truth, that its essentially carried in semen(and not in sufficient saliva quantities) and passed on sexually (lets ignore blood transfusions, ect). It just so happens you have a lot more "vunerable" and susepetable to damage tissues in the anus. Perhaps as I am clearly confused, you could tell me what "hetrosexual" sex is? Is a woman taking one in the back doors from a man, or indeed giving him a blow job, somehow not "hetrosexual?" Its easier to spread, anally, but to describe it as a non hetrosexual disease is an argument lost 30 years ago.
  17. Just saw this Limpid, sorry for the delay - I haven't done what you've asked, but I did just notice, I was on Villatalk, and went to Newsnow from the clickable link, which replaces Villatalk with Newsnow (rather than opening another window/tab). When I hit back on my FF Browser to go back to Villatalk, a new window opend up advertising "Blinkbox" ? Don't know if that makes it a Leaving Newsnow or Entering Villatalk issue?
  18. Yeah, its a great "game" but thats all it feels like to me. Selling stuff is confusing. Crafting is confusing. Theres so much gear drops, you dont need crafting, but you need massive drops "To" craft to collect the items. I rolled a Charr, am now at level 21. The capital, Black Citadel, is too big, it doesn't feel like a city, and the outside area's are too small, or rather the villages/events are too close together, barely 30 seconds running from each other. The teleports are too close together so dying appears not to have much of a penalty to it, you never feel you are properly "exploring". I also echo the combat. Its too flashy, fast paced, and really feels like a one button spamfest more or less. It always feels like a game, not a "world", and just lacks a bit of "magic" somehow. Dont get me wrong, I like it, but I wouldn't pay a monthly sub for it.
  19. I've had them fairly frequently for a few weeks, not when the page loads from my browser settings, (ie its part of my Firefox start up) But more typically if I search for villatalk as a url in my browser. The "My offers" seems to ring a bell for me.
  20. Well, I've rolled on Aurora Glade to be with my old wow Guildies, but anyone ends up there is welcome to look me up - "Samosa Juju"
  21. Your're going to be in Thornton Heath? Thats about a mile from Croydon. Regrettably for PC gaming, there is a Game store (there used to be 3!), but it only has a narrow selection of games, mainly the latest, Xbox ports! There are 2 CEX stores (second hand shops) in Croydon, one about next to Easy Croydon Station, but I don't think they do games/software anymore, just s/h phones and DVD's. 200 yards down the road is the second, lager CEX but they have a pretty poor selection,of mainly pretty old stuff. To be honest, for PC games, the Croydon branch of Game is about the worst one I've been in - you'd think PC gaming was dead. There is 1 further indie store about 50 yards down towards the centre of the town, but again, very limited. To be honest, I've not managed to buy a single game I fancy and as a new convert to Steam, have bought all my games there.
  22. Isn't Danielle lloyd that nasty little racist who along with that thankfully dead mouth breather Jade Goody, verbally set about that Indian Big Brother contestant? Probably the main point of young Leon's ire. The fact that she'd f**ked dozens of footballers isn't particularly dispicable, there are plenty of women like that seeking a shot at the high life on the back of someone elses efforts, (well, getting there on their own backs mainly) but thats equality - you can't boast about your prowess as a man, and then suggest any woman who does the same is a whore, as the maths doesn't stack up for a start. Twitter does seem the new frontier of keyboard warriorism these days. Interesting to see where free speech and plod go with this generally over the next few years. To be honest, as a fairly early fb adopter, I can't see the point of Twitter, it takes vacuousness to a new level. It really is about "listen to me" rather than "lets exchange ideas". It seems a shame to have evolved language over hundreds of thousands of years, to then go to txt spk (lol) and 120 character tweets in one generation.

I'd never played HL2 before (Or HL1) and got the orange box recently - It's fab! I'm taking it very slowly, but have just entered Black Mesa (East?) with the airboat! Fantastic game - can't recommend it too highly, especially at the stupid price it was in the sale! I must admit, since signing up to steam and the recent sale, my view in pc gaming has totally changed. The only sod is my broadband is capped to 40g a month, so I can't install most of what I bought right now!

And we'll still have Alex Mcleish.....
  25. As above - Seem to not be as many about as modern combat - prefer the feel of WWII (Or indeed WWI). Seems My choices seem to be Call of Duty Series, (I, II and United offensive in a "Steam Warchest Combo), Call of Duty World at War Iron Front - (Supposed to be buggy) Red Orchestra I&II Bundle (II supposed to be buggy too). Anything I've missed - whats the best? The last time I played one of these was Medal ofHonour on a PS1! - And don't worry bout the specs, my pc should run just about anything ok..... Suggestions please.... Alternatively, if the modern ones are *much* better, what would I go for?
