  1. Hi guys After about 5 years I need a new gaming PC. At the moment I play League of Legends, CS:GO and PUBG. I am aware that the following build is overkill for these games but I plan on playing games that require a more powerful PC. I have little experience with computer hardware and would like to know your opinion on the following build: Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X (LGA 1151, Intel Z390, ATX) CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K (LGA 1151, 3.60GHz, Unlocked) CPU cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Advanced C1 (16.60cm) GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Gaming 8GB (this is my current GPU. Bought it a few months ago) RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V (2x, 16GB, DDR4-3200, DIMM 288) Power: be quiet! Power Zone (850W) SSD: Crucial MX500 (1000GB, 2.5") (additionally I'll use a 1TB HDD from my current PC) Tower: be quiet! Dark Base 700 (Midi Tower, Insulated) Comments: I'm not upgrading my current PC because I could do with a second PC (for LANs). I don't want/need water cooling. It would be easy to upgrade if I change my mind. I know the GPU isn't up to par with the rest of the hardware. I plan on getting a new GPU in 1-2 years I picked a slightly cheaper motherboard (compared to the rest of the components) because the only difference I could find on the more expensive one was that it had more USB 3.0 and USB-C ports. Questions: Anything on the list that's not worth the money? Is the case big enough or do I need a big tower? Ideas for improvement? Other comments or suggestions? Thanks for your feedback! . . Edit: I posted unintentionally before I was finished Edit 2: Mods please feel free to move this to the tech section if you feel this is the wrong place to post. I don't know how to move it.
  2. I've not really had much chance to get any gaming in lately, although I miss it. I'm thinking of trading in or selling the consoles I have, and either getting a new one or just spending the cash on something else. I've got an old Xbox 360 and a few games, which I know isn't worth anything really. I've also got an Xbox One Day One Edition with a couple of controllers and some, admittedly old, games. Soooo - where would be the best place to go if I was trading in? CeX? Game? Would I be better trying to sell on Shpock or Ebay? And if I was looking to get something new, do I stick with Xbox or switch to PS4? I've got a 4k TV so would like to get the most out of that, and maybe use the console for Blu-Ray too. I'm totally behind the curve on all of this these days - as evidenced by having an old console. I tried to use it before Christmas and it just seemed really slow and unresponsive, even scrolling through menus. HELP!
  3. If you come across good deals on games please post them here. Europa Universalis IV is 75% off at Bundle Stars for another 20 or so hours. You can also get most of the DLCs cheap (not the newest one though) Link Great game, I've logged more than 400 hours on it so far, and still not bored with it.

    Steam

I bought the boxed version of Football Manager 2012 and it needs steam to activate it.I dont like steam, and I dont mind playing against the PC.I will go on steam to activate if I have to but does anyone know of any workaround or crack or whatever for steam games so that you can activate without going online. :?:

    Tech Deals 2015

I'm trying something new. For any deals you find on tech. It'll be open until the end of December. After that we'll see if there is enough interest to make it monthly. Please don't just post links, at least describe what the deal is.
  6. https://www.humblebundle.com/?originbundle Pay what you want. On their own, all these mind-blowing titles would cost about $215, but we're letting you name your price! Pay any price to get soundtracks for The Sims 3 and Battlefield 3. A purchase of $1 or more gets you Origin* keys for all the games, and you can also get Steam keys forDead Space, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Medal of Honor, and Mirror's Edge! Beat the average to also get The Sims 3, two expansion packs in The Sims 3 Starter Pack, and Battlefield 3. What a **** deal!
