  1. I really rate him but today he was just awful. Did he play in the internationals?
  2. I think it's rather obvious that playing him as a lone striker is not going to work.
  3. The way he was outmuscled by Deulofeu was embarrassing. Went to gound like a child. Pathetic.
  4. What an idiot Sherwood is for thinking he was better than Cissokho (let alone Amavi)
  5. Westwood has the strength of a child, pathetic
  6. Why can't we even do the basic things properly. That pass from Hutton wen straight to the opposition. Jesus....
  7. We could really do with Sanchez in the middle, would give us some muscle. We really have no phisicality apart from Richards.
  8. Why do we need to concede a goal before we start playing? Disgusting attitude.
  9. Richardson pretty much is the embodiment of the useless full back. He's not good at defending, and not good at going forward. While he is slightly (maybe) better at defending than Amavi, he is way inferior at attacking. And while sligltly better going forward than Cissokho, he is much worse at defending.
  10. Not sure we miss Delph all that much. He stood out and had a very very good spell, but he was hardly an influential player.
  11. Totally different player from Ayew, they pretty much have nothing in common apart from being strikers, with Gestede injured he could be a good option. He doesn't have to start, but get him on the bench at least.
  12. He's not getting any gametime at Porto, so we might reach an agreement to get him back.

Takes touches but gets the bell in good positions. Would you rather have a player who only takes one touch but doesn't make anything happen?
  14. It wasn't a free transfer, we signed him from Fulham. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28271907
  15. I really don't get the fixation with British managers. How many British managers have won the Premier League since it was established? Just two: one was a genius and the other one was arguably a fluke.
  16. Hope he changes his mind, we really don't need losing player when there is the African Cup, and it will be much harder for him to make the squad for Spain than for Mali. I want as few players on international duty as possible.
  17. He played well, but it's fair to mention that he could've cost us a goal on Sunday when he tried an very unlikely interception in midfield and allowed Sterling a 1v1 situation with Clark (it was when there was contact in the box but Sterling went down too easily). He needs to stop making moronic mistakes like that. Apart from that, he was excellent.
  18. I suggest you missed a fair amount then The biggest difference between them is that it looks like Veretout can actually carry the ball and commit defenders potentially opening up space for others Westwood has a tendency to recieve the ball and immediately give it to someone else (be that sideways, backwards or on occasion forwards) A massive deficiency in the way that we have played for the lat few seasons is in just how little the midfield contributes to our attacking moves and a lot of the problem is Westwood and his lack of desire / inability to try riskier work that forces opponents to adjust their defending shape If you dont have players capable of beating men, then you are stuck with the kind of speculative (and outdated) football we have played for the last few years where everything gets funneled to the wings and hopefully thrown into the box Having players that can beat a single man in midfield causes another opponent to shift their defensive assignment which alters the entire setup and creates the space for other players as well as freeing up players that may have been previously man-marked Westwood is neat and tidy and his stats 'look' impressive when taken in isolation but its his very style of play and unfortunate limitations that make it obvious (in my opinion at least) that he's not suited to this level. I wish it wasnt the case, I was raving about him after his first season and am as amazed as anyone that he is EXACTLY the same player that he was when he first came. He hasnt kicked on at all Veretout did enough today and in glimpses over the course of the season so far to show me that he is a better answer if we ever want to play a more modern game that isnt reliant on "get it on the head of the big man" I agree with what you say here. I would add a point though, I think Westwood could come into the side in place of Sanchez against sides who we are expected to keep possession against. Against teams that are happy to sit back and play us on the counter (admittedly not as many these days), I think Westwood could play the role of the midfielder who sits in front of the back 4 and keeps the possession recycling. Even then I'd keep Sanchez in the team, given his greater defensive contribution and ability to win the ball back.
  19. I'm not buying this, isn't he already on some 40k? If that's the case, would it make sense to pay an extra 35 and have what seems to be a very valuable player, or just let him rot on the bench for 40k? It's not like we got him on loan, we payed 7 millions for him. Barça do have a buyback clause, but will they be willing to pay the money back if he isn't getting any game time and developing? Will any other club pay anything like what we payed for him if he doesn't play?
  20. The only game in which he didn't mess up, you mean? Lescotto is diabolical, when was the last time we've had a CB play this bad for us?
  21. He's a good option to have, decent squad player that won't really cost us points if our main choices are injured/suspended.
  22. He's still finding his feet in English football, he sowed lapses of brilliance, didn't play perfectly but was ok, especially considering the opposition. Let's not forget he's also just 22.
  23. Have you been watching, Tim Sherwood?
  24. It's brilliant we managed to draw to City. He did play every French player at the club, but even if we assume there is some resistance from some of our English players (unsafe assumption, so far), the result speaks in his favour.
