And will probably go on to have a good carreer bursting forward and getting plenty of assists, and we will be left wondering why he couldn't do that in the f*****g championship. Ok maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but such is the irony at Villa...

All I saw from him is a youtube video showing all of his goals at Brentford and I was rather skeptical because most of his goals came from a build up that resembles nothing to what we "play" like, and my first thought was: "he doesn't look like the right type of striker for us". Then again, Gestede wasn't the right type of striker because we don't cross the ball, McCorkmack wasn't the right type of striker because he needs players around him to move, Kodjia scores some great goals and often creates them out of nothing but wastes a sh**load of chances and lacks baisc football intelligence. Ayew was good enough in the Premier League (given the context) but not good enough for the Championship. What IS the right type of striker for us?

Why is it that every time we f*** we get punished but when our opponents f*** up we are so completely toothless? Out of the starting 11 only the fullbacks were here last season (and one of them virtually hasn't played at all). We changed the whole team, the manager (twice), the owner. Everything has changed. And yet nothing has changed. You see a couple of decent things every now and then, fail to make anything out of them, f*** up, concede and give up. We could buy the whole Chelsea squad and hire Conte as manager and we'd still be getting the same tripe.

Don't get why we bought him in the first place as we never set up to play his game.

What IS he good at though?

He was our most expensive signing that summer and was bought as back up for Benteke, when we hade obvious problems all over the pitch. That and almost three years of Weimann on the right wing makes you wonder what the hell Paul Lambert has between his ears. He went on insisting on players like Weimann and Westwood and these players aren't even close to being good enough for the Championship. Still baffles me. Anyway, back to Kozak, he really is an odd one, he managed to become the Europa League's top scorer and yet not score a single league goal in the same year at Lazio. Injuries have probably ended his carreer as a "footballer".

I haven't seen a single Wednesday match except for the first match of the season against us, but does anybody know how Bannan is doing for them? Is he any worse for them than Westwood is for us? Because in the Premier League Westwood definitely looked like the better player but now, even without knowing how Bannan is doing I'm almost tempted to say I'd blindly trade Westwood for him.

No, we are bottom of the league because we've had a clown masquerading as a manager who did such a bad job he killed every ounce of confidence left in the players, leaving his successor with a very, VERY difficult job. The players aren't great by any means, but many other teams in the league are, on paper, no better than ours. I'd argue that even the Leicester team is not vastly superior to ours (not saying they are not better), yet they are top of the league. Look at Chelsea, they have a fantastic team and where are they? This isn't just something to do with the quality of the players.

Sure, he should get a chance in the cup. If he is outstanding he should earn a place in the starting 11. If he's decent he should come off the bench. If he's rubbish he should stay on the bench unless we have injuries or need a desperate change of tactics. But we're a little off topic.

I agree that Ayew is better outside the box (playing off a front man) and yes, him and Benteke together would've been football pornography. Not convinced about Gestede and Kozak together, that would mean that we would only have one attacking player with any skill, and we only have 2 decent crossers of the ball (Bacuna and Veretout). I'm afraid the couple of them up front would result in hoofball, and WBA doesn't strike me as the best team to play it against.

But Grealish has shown even less than Gil. I'd give him a go against Wycombe, if he plays well then maybe... But he really doesn't strike me as the type of individual who will work hard, step his game up and start performing consistently. Attitude-wise I feel he's one of the worst players we have at the club.

But Ayew was already starting, so I guess my question still stands... Looking at yesterday's bench I don't see many options. Maybe Richards at RB and Bacuna in MF... Or Both Kozak and Gestede up front, but I doubt that would work for the full 90 minutes.

To those calling for him to be dropped, who would you replace him with? Grealish? Sinclair? He was very poor yesterday, but I still think he should start.

Apparently he's back, after failing to make a single appearence for Bournemouth. Can't see him getting any game time for us this season, I can see us loaning him to the Championship, might be decent back-up for us next season.

I wasn't really thinking of him as a left sided player, mostly because he is such a ghost it's hard to spot him at all!
