A lot were smith out, expecting a significant upgrade - Gerrard is not that. Purslow promised ambition. We're not signing Gerrard the world class footballer.

When Purslow talked about ambition, then comes up with (his friend/hero) Gerrard, who has zero managerial experience in a top class, competitive league, i am left with the opinion that this appointment is being made with Gerrard first and villa as a secondary consideration. Just my opinion

Likely Gerrard will take a couple from Rangers. Dont know a lot about them but we've been linked with morelos, kent and kamara in the past

Gerrard, if appointed, may do gfeat, may be terrible. I'll back him regardless. The most dissapointing thing is that this whole thing smacks of Purslow helping his mate get an audition for the plop job. I dont think AVFC features as the priority here at all.

I'm not hugely knowledgable about other major leagues, but a lot of people have suggested tryong to buy out a manager from their contract. Anyone with decent knowledhe suggest who might be a good pick up if we bought out their contract?
