  1. Needless to say I disagree ( but that's what being a Villa fan is all about), We only just missed out on promotion, in fact had we had a decent start to the campaign we would have been promoted automatically, I am not suggesting he will " suddenly change his entire approach" just that at certain times, ie QPR home, he would have learned from his mistakes, We don't know yet what the squad will look like come August, it may well not be as different as you fear. If he stays and we go up he wouldn't be the first manager to have failed first before getting it right. I know it's a frustrating time for all Villa fans at the moment but give Dr Tony a chance to sort it. We're Villa and we WILL be back
  2. The real reason we didn't go up this year is that there were 2 better sides than us plus Cardiff who somehow kicked and fouled their way up.I don't think sacking Bruce is the right thing to do. Stability and team ethic is needed. We can't keep chopping and changing. He needs to adapt- he knows that, but we need to stick with him
  3. Yes agreed Xia certainly saved us initially, but don't forget Di Matteo and where that was taking us!!
  4. There's some awfully short memories on this thread. We should be thanking Bruce for saving us from becoming Sunderland not tearing him apart. He may or may not be the answer next season, but at least next season we have a chance!
  5. Can't find that anywhere most have us at9/1 4th favs
  6. This a great post.I agree with it entirely, however I'm sure Dr Tony and the board WILL be aware of the consequences of failing FFP and must decide whether the risk is worth taking
  7. So big changes he said, then Zidane resigns it's all falling in place ?
  8. Money wouldn't have been a problem if we had made it to the promised land!!
  9. The penalties now include being demoted out of automatic or play-off places-so no he won't risk that
  10. Sounds very much like " Thank you and goodbye Steve"
  11. Calm down it hasn't happened yet. Dr T is a clever businessman and will have already planned for this eventuality. Don't panic things will turn out better than you think UTV
  12. You have to make a profit on the transfer first-and we won't so nothing to pay!!
  13. Don't know how much it's worth now but don't forget Jack has already said that he'll be staying no matter which division we're in!!
  14. Think one of the main problems will be maintaining the obvious team spirit which has built over the season, Snodgrass, I believe has been at the heart of that along with JT and it looks like neither will be with us next year. Needs a big character in there, don't know who though!
  15. However good he's been Chester would not bring in an amount that would make a huge difference, so no to that, selling Grealish is unthinkable. We have to cut out the deadwood and sell fringe players. Difficult I know but not impossible. If players have to go I would look at Adomah ( unfortunately) as we have Green available now. Taylor probably as Hutton will sign a one year contract on lower wages. De Laet, Jedinak or Whelan, Lansbury. There is plenty of quality in the U23 squad as back up and 1 or 2 of them may well come into the 1st team ( O'Hare & Doyle Hayes for me). Borg at LB and Suliman at CH must be close too. There was always going to be doom & gloom after Saturday but we finished above 20 teams last year and I can't see any of them improving that much ( due FFP-We're not the only one's affected). Stoke, Swansea,Albion & the promoted teams don't worry me too much, so all in all I reckon we'll be just fine. No need to change the manager just his tactics sometimes, and I think he knows that now!
  16. We were better than 20 teams in the league last term and we will be better than them this year. Stoke,Swansea, Albion and the promoted sides don't fill me with terror. As long as we manage the comings and goings in the summer we'll be absolutely fine. Also like it or not changing the manager all the time is'nt the way to go. Stability is. Chins up lads we're going up next year and no play-offs this time
  17. U23's have a big game on Tuesday and played Friday so they won't be involved. Also you now have to have 10 players who were in the squad for the last game. This of course would be the same for the play off semi, so Bruce has to be careful with his selection balance today!
  18. Haven't heard its going to be off but there again it's still snowing!
