We can't pretend that we can make the sort of decisions that, if money was no object, we would.As much stability as possible is the way forward next season. Anything else is wishful thinking and could, at worse, make the situation more difficult still.

Yes it was quite cheerful for you ? and actually I agree that given a choice Bruce would not be my preferred candidate for a re-building job. However I don't think we have that choice. It also may not be the massive re-build that looked on the cards last week. Obviously we have lost a lot of the older players but Bruce has some funds and a good knowledge of the kids so we will see!!

I think it's pretty clear Bruce is staying put.I don't think we have the funds to sack him anyway. It is said that he has been given assurances regarding transfer budget and as I have said all along Xia does not want to contemplate selling Jack. if the sums add up we probably won't be too badly off come Aug 4. Here's hoping!!

If this is remotely true then JT must have had a big input into it. He rates Jack very highly and obviously loves Chelsea ( and Villa now apparently) so this would fit very nicely if indeed he is to have a coaching role at Chelsea in the future. With all that in mind I think it would probably appeal to Jack too.

You know that as a fact do you, have you met him, do you know how he thinks? If the answer to those questions is Yes, fair play to you, you know a lot more than I, if it's No then you know as much as those heralded journo's who just make things up!

It's pretty clear from Dr T that he believes he has secured funds for the on going business side for at least two years. Given this, it is obvious he has no intention of either selling or allowing the club into administration. We have no idea whether he will have to sell everybody or nobody. Everyone is an expert of course ( I'm talking about the press of course) but in reality nobody knows anything. Xia is Chinese and proud and will not sucumb meekly. I think a lot of people will be suprised at the team put out for the first game and not in a bad way. I'm close to people from Villa's past who are in touch still, and I CAN say Dr. T is vehemently against selling Grealish & Chester but time will tell

Shaqiri will not be in the Championship - guaranteed. Grealish is probably as good anyway and much younger

Clutching at straws I may be but does anybody agree due to our extended stay in the Championship it will at least give some playing time to our U23 kids which they certainly would not have got in the Prem. We will now find out if they are good enough and if 2 or 3 of them are, when we do go up we will be financally better off. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise ( good disguise though).

Not for FFP he doesn't, but if he could get his head together and start doing his job properly, he could on the pitch where it counts

Well at least Villa ARE a giant lorry still. We all have our different idea's how this great club should go forward and they are all subjective.Only the good Doctor and his cohorts know how they will go about things. As fans we just have to trust either way they get it right
