  1. For me he was poor on Saturday. I really like him as a player and I think he could be good but the inrcreasingly regular big mistakes are starting to worry me. I thought he looked a liability in possession for much of the second half, seems to always be in the second half so presumably its a fitness thing. It seems to be poor judgement/decision making for more mental but I guess that gets effected by tiredness aswell. Overall I think there is a good player in there. Love his height and aerial ability, can't remember the last time we had a CM who won so many headers. His physicality is something we have also missed for a long time, definitely better than Westwood in that regard. In general I think he is a decent passes but seems to have very poor awareness of what is around him. I hope he is able to improve on that. I think he'll be a loss on Sunday, even though he has was poor on Sat and a good half/bad half against QPR, there is no obvious replacement without Westwood fit. Having to shuffle Delph or Cleverely in there leaves us weaker overall.
  2. Question here for Professor JB and Stevo. I have always done shoulders (usually some form of shoulder press) on the same day as chest, my reasoning being that both are involving the triceps. I then alternate with back and arms, and a leg days to make up the week. Has never been a problem but recently I developed a bit of niggler in the front of my left shoulder which is taking ages to go away. I'm wondering if its because I'm doing shoulders on the wrong day. Trouble is the shoulder is so connected that if you really think about it there seems to be no right way to do it in terms of working out every(week)day and not hitting the same areas on consecutive days. For instance if I switched up and did more of a routine like the one above (Stevo) then arent you effectively working out your biceps on Day 2 (various rows and lat pulldown) and then Day 3 (biceps curls etc)?
  3. Was thinking at the weekend how his ball striking is probably the thing that lets him down more than anything else. If you look at the likes of Kane, Austin, Ings etc they tend to get a good strike on the ball 9 times out of ten. Obviously it doesnt always go in but generally they are making the goalkeeper work. Andi tends to scuff his shot 9 times out of 10 and the goalkeeper either has to just pick it up or go and get it from the crowd.
  4. Very little on FitnessPal 30mins solid weight lifting is 111 calories so 5x5 is going to be a very small number
  5. I thought he had a very shakey start but seemed to really kick himself up the arse after that. Noticeably more aggressive in the tackle which to be honest was the absolute minimum I would have expected. Thought he was aided by a really dreadful Townsend performance. Always been impressed with him for England but don't see a huge amount of 90min games of Spurs so I guess it's game like this why he gets so much hate.
  6. He was absolutely knackered by the end as was Cleverly, this formation asks a lot of them. They are both excellent athletes but have visibly flagged towards the end in the last two games
  7. Yep, I'm screwed too. 180 miles away, and no chance of time off next week. I was in the same boat but just called the ticket office and they put it through today so are going to post one out. Happy days!
  8. Howard Hodgson reckons he's had an email saying it is sold out aswell. I'll be gutted if so, I'm on 3 games as the other games I've been to are on my old mans account and we didnt put them on my client ref and now can't be transfered. School boy error in hindsight but was hoping I'd scrape in at the last minute. The official AVFC account seems to suggest they are still selling them so hopefully he misunderstood.
  9. I think even the defensive Titan that is Matt Lowton would have been able to put in a better challenge than Richardson managed in the move which lead to their third goal. I am not sure I would describe Matt Phillips as a rampant winger either, there was no great skill involved. He was just barging through what was at that point in time an empty shopping bag of a footballer.
  10. To be honest I put the blame as much with Sherwood as Richardson on this one. He should have pulled him earlier, I actually thought Lowton was coming on for him and was glad, obviously Bacuna couldnt carry on which was the reason for that. I guess after subbing one FB we wanted to keep his subs for more attacking areas. Was definitely a fitness issue because he was visibly gone, however I think even if you are shot physically as an experienced professional you dont let someone just go through you over and over like that. Do something, whatever it takes to at least disrupt his control of the ball. It was rank to watch but as I say Sherwood should have acted sooner.
  11. To be fair I think Sanchez has the technique. He can pass and move the ball about well. It seems more a mentality thing, every now and then he seems very lax and dopey in posession which leads him to putting himself under pressure unnecessarily and giving the ball away in stupid areas. A lot of it is awareness about what is around him and the time he has on the ball. I had hoped he would be up to speed on that by now. I thought he was excellent first half, really top draw, a different player in a three and really allowed Delph, Cleverly, Bacuna and Richardson to kick on. Second half it was back to the bad Carlos, maybe we can explain it with fitness issues I'm not sure.
  12. I thought he made a big difference coming back the energy he and Delph bring in the middle is excellent. Thought he tired a bit towards the end but no surprise after a few games out.
  13. A friend of mine was telling me about an interview he read with Sterling apparently he has been the highest paid player at every age group up this point and he wants that to continue hence him busting some scouse balls. I think he'd be mad to leave at this point but sounds like he is all about the money rather than the game and unfortunatley common affliction it seems.
  14. Yeah I've been pleased with him also. Has a surprisingly good instinct to get himself into the box in good areas, no fluke how many chances he's getting on the end of. Granted he's been a little wasteful and greedy so far but I'd take that because he's getting the chances and the goals will come. Add to that his pace and threat from the flanks and he looks a bargain at the type of money they are talking about.
  15. I think there are many facets to being a decent manager he had some good points but ultimately too many weaknesses to be a success with us. I think he's a good judge of a player and in general seemed to have the players on his side. He was however a poor coach who wasn't able to inspire, he arrived someone who was positive and always looking to get a result (dare I say as Sherwood is now!) but he ended up very negative and with a worse scoring record than McCleish who was the most negative Villa manager I could remember.
  16. If we are doing amateur solutions to complex problems what about a toilet inside the cockpit? Then they never have to leave during the flight. Also couldn't Palestine and Israel just do timeshare in Jerusalem?
  17. Something I've picked up on recently and now can't stop noticing is eyeglasses (US) to glasses (UK).
  18. Check the reviews from places you buy from online! Just bought a coffee table which was damaged when we opened it. They are saying I have to wait in for three days for them to collect it...not a great service. Despite me going crazy they wouldnt budge at all. At least let me move address to work so now I have to take a 40kg box to work. I have now checked their previous reviews and they are 99% phenomenally negative. Out of interest the company is called Home Discount Ltd VT'ers consider yourselves warned.
  19. For me when you watch the likes of Zlatan, Suarez and Sanchez in this team it makes you appreciate all the more what a player Eto'o was.
  20. Hi Paul, I thought you would say exactly that as I saw your comment in the Weeked football thread. So let me draw the distinction again so this doesnt get sidetracked into a "is Suarez any good debate". On Sunday I think his movement and workrate was excellent and like I said it was a great goal. However I was really surprised at how often he gave it away in the general build up play, if you watch the game back it was a hell of a lot. To the point where the crowd were audibly groaning on at least two occassions and even Suarez himself seemed to be getting really pissed off. So it is this aspect I am talking about his technique, skill and passing which I never remember being a weakness at Liverpool (in fact I remember it being a major strength). . Also yes I did see that 6-1 game and he was very very good but for me his clumsiness with the ball has been fairly prevalent this season where as performances like that 6-1 game have been rarer.
  21. Im interested in peoples views on the following. Suarez scored a great goal at the weekend but to be honest he looks like a donkey in this side compared to the Suarez at Liverpool and the other players in this team. Before anyone gets too upset I know he is putting in a great shift for the team and is a big reason why Messi has come back to form so successfully. I am not talking about his work rate or general effect on the team. I am talking about his technique, his control, passing, skill, all of which was top notch at Liverpool but seems very poor at Barcelona. If you watch them carefully when they run their quick one touch attacks threading through packed defences it is amazing how often it breaks down with Suarez. You could extend this to Fabregas and Sanchez too, all three no doubt great players but all three look/looked very different players in a Barcelona shirt to elsewhere. Thoughts?

Wtf is that video? I cannot believe that anyone would mistake a piece of ham for a serviette !
  23. Yeah my folks use these also, always seemed like a terrible idea to me because there is no point storing toast, unless you eat it pretty immediatley it goes cold. On a side note my father in law will only eat his toast one way which is to be burnt (not carbonite but definitely black) which he then leaves to go cold so the butter doesnt melt.
